I love music like: Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, KoRn, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Dio(RIP), Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society etc. Metallica is my favorite. But System Of A Down is a band I pay tons of respect to. Since their first album. Serj's voice is something out of this world and the lyrics,wow. Daron plays heavenly(really). John has awesome drum solos. Shavo made that bass be the key to hell. Most of the ppl I know hate them. 'Cuz they think it's just sound. I only know 6 ppl that like 'em. If it's just "noise" why do we love it?

    ok first off let me say their first album is classic genious. alot of those bands u named in the first place are ok in my opinion but when it comes to SOAD they are second to none in what they do their style lyrics and music alone sets them apart from alot of 4 piece bands. if you appreciate music for what it is and all the creativness that plays into it than it should not matter if you think its ok to like a band. its actually a pretty stupid question you are asking. maybe you are trendy and care to much for others might think of you. if thats the case and you have to question if its normal to like SOAD than you should stop listening to them. and from the list of bands you mentioned you should be more open minded to new or sub genres of the bands you like they all follow the same style in most cases which sets SOAD apart from them.

    my favorite song of thiers is chop suey. it is just so nice and it ois very known buy my college in cal poly pamona. Almost everybody is singing it listening to it all the time.

    see i liked all the bands u listed, and i LOOOOVVEEEE soad. lots of my friends dont like them either..... m fav ong by them is chop suey!!! the words are just someaningful. my other favs by then are byob, toxiciy,suger, and aerials.
