Synchronicity = soulmates?

I met this guy from my class and I confessed to him I likes him and we started dating to see how things go. The funny thing is we felt like we know each other since forever and everything just feels so comfortable. Yesterday we went out with a group of friends so I decided to buy him a packet of candies. When I meet up with him, we ended up realising we got the same packet of candy from the same store and we had no idea about it.

What does it means? coincidence or connection?

    Okay same packet of candy doesn't equate to soul mates. Synchronicity can certainly be "soul mate" material but there's more depth than just the same chosen candy. That really sounds like a mere coincidence and doesn't have much to do with the type of person they are. If it had been the same obscure band that only has 500 fans in the entire world, that would probably sell me more on the whole soul mate ordeal.

    Maybe you'll have more in common, who knows but having trivial things in common doesn't equate to soul mate. If you have the same morals on gun control, marriage, raising kids, abortion, etc then I'd say you're onto something good.

    My ex and I had a lot in common. She and I shared the same favorite song but I'm now married to someone else and far better off and we have more morals/important life goals in common so that's more evidence/food for thought for you.

    Every woman I've ever loved has been my soulmate. Or so it seems at the time.

      If they were your soul mates you'd still be with them. . .

        No, I don't think so. People change.

          Then they weren't your soulmates. That goes against the very nature of what a soulmate is; soulmates are invulnerable to change.

    Okay, now I do believe in soul mates. If you are soul mates I believe that you pick up on each others thought process and act upon it, thinking it was your own thoughts. It may have been fate, but that's for you to find out.

    Sometimes a coincidence is just a coincidence. People can be desperate to attach meaning in this lonely world.

    And I never understood why people seem to think you are only allowed one soul mate. I believe in soul clusters. People you are meant to share your life with. But there is no time limit on that friendship. Maybe it was only meant to last three years. And in those three years you had a wonderful tine and both moved on to the next great adventure waiting.

    The only meaning anything has is the meaning you give it.

    Synchronicity doesn't always point you in a good direction, it is part of the underlying nature of the universe and is still an unknown.

    when you meet somebody new and inside your heart you feel as though you've known them before, that's a sign that there is some connection. You know that song by jewel, intuition, she says to just follow your heart, baby. What's in your heart is the answer.

    This is very unlikely to happen but I'm not sure if there is such a thing as soulmates, so I'd say it's a coincidence.

    Coincidence. I suspect that feeling you described, about how it feels so comfortable, may just be the first time you really cliqued with someone. I've felt it a few times, and the easiest way to describe that closeness is 'soul mate'.

    Though, I do not actually believe in such a notion, per se. It is a 'connection'. But intellectual, not spiritual.
