Is it normal to get food stuck in your teeth and have your gums swell up? I brush my teeth at least 3 times a day and I floss, yet my gums get infected frequently from food particles.

My gums used to get inflamed and my dentists would always point it out. I started using Listerine religiously and now my gums rarely bleed and are no longer inflamed. My dentists always tell me they look great. Not saying Listerine is the magical fix-all, but give it a try.
Thanks! Good idea... I will give it a shot! Glad to hear it works for you... and I'm sure it makes your breath smell great too!
Oh it's you! :) Actually I have recently switched to all natural products. Listerine works and I hardly ever get bad breath but it contains artificial sweeteners and other chemicals I'd rather not swish around in my mouth. Harsh toothpastes like Crest make the inside of my mouth peel...I think I'm sensitive to something in them. I'm trying to be a little more gentle to my body, hehe. Tom's of Maine makes amazing all natural toothpastes and mouthwashes, and they are affordable. Since I switched the inside of my mouth doesn't peel anymore.
While I'm at it, I'll mention that I've also stopped using antiperspirant and I actually sweat less. I don't sweat a lot anyways and I hate that sticky feeling that antiperspirants leave in my pits...ick! I use a deodorant called Crystal...it's just a block of mineral salts and IT WORKS. Sweat doesn't smell. The only thing that smells are the bacteria that form to break down the waste products in your sweat. The mineral salts create an environment that is inhospitable to bacteria. It contains no antiperspirant but the salt does help you to sweat a little less, in my opinion. It has absolutely no scent but I never get bo, ever. I still smell like my shower from yesterday. Sweating, aside from being cooling, is also the body's way of releasing toxins and your armpits are a very important site for this release as there are many pores and lymph nodes. All antiperspirants like Secret and Degree do is clog up those pores in your armpits so that you can't sweat. It just isn't healthy, plus they contain all sorts of chemicals and are loaded with aluminum. You shave your pits right, which makes tiny abrasions in your skin, and then you coat them with a sticky layer of chemicals that constantly absorb into your bloodstream. It's not good. Anyways, give these things a try! I don't really buy into the whole "everything causes cancer" and I'm not saying anything definite but there is evidence to suggest that it may be linked to cancer and other diseases like alzheimer's, so it's better safe than sorry. Plus, it's just plain comforting to know that the stuff you are putting in and on your body isn't loaded with all kinds of chemicals!
Yup, 'tis I! lol Yeah I know what you mean about the natural products. I've actually switched to Melaluca products. Ever heard of that company? Their products are really good, and so much safer. I'm thinking of trying out their mouthwash too. Thanks for the info, by the way! :)
