Suicidal b4 period, happier during, goes away again a week later: iin?

This has been going on for a few months, steadily getting worse; and I'm starting to wonder if I've always had it (I have flashbacks of when I was younger round about the time of my period and feeling tearful over irrational things/angry at everything/bloated).

For a week or two before my period, I feel angry and hateful at everyone and everything and have thoughts of cutting myself/jumping into the docks near where I live.
As soon as I start, I feel happier - if in some pain - and it goes away again about a week and a half later.

I suspect it's PMDD, but I can't speak to the doctor about it because you're supposed to keep a daily journal of your symptoms etc.
I started out writing one, but, then abandoned it partway through. Is it normal?

If your not already, go on the pill. That helped me a lot.

I tried Cerazette in order to help me with my PMS symptoms... it was the worst fortnight of my life.

My boobs were in constant agony and I became **really** aggressive (Not physically). Everyone and everything annoyed me even more than it usually does when I have PMS and I made a racist comment towards some people who were talking too loudly(!!) for me at the time outside. Mum, not unnaturally, told me off for it.

The people in question were talking at a normal volume and I would probably have ignored them any other day.
Looking back on it, all I can say is THANK FUCK I was indoors where I couldn't do them - or myself - any harm.

Not normal, but you're probably right about the PMDD. Talk to a doc.

How do you find a consistent one that will listen to you, though?

In my university's town (Where I live most of the year), we seem to be given the first one that comes out of a raffle.

This is obviously useless if you have an ongoing condition that you want something doing about.

Having said that, I have been planning on getting my hormone levels checked and/or my first gynae next year.

I'll keep an eye on myself and start writing a diary again next year.
