Suffer from depression, but can’t handle depressed people

Maybe it’s because my spirits almost always low, but I can’t be around people who are constantly negative or depressed.

Let me give you an example: I have a dear friend who suffers from depression. We were with a group of friends who thought it would be friend to walk to the local cemetery at night. His remark was “this is where your hard work ends.” It’s true, but even when sober he has a constant negative view about life.

I know I come across as an asshole, but realize I too am plagued with this, so it’s probably I can’t stand to be around depressed people.

My tolerance for people of all types plummets when I am depressed. I think it comes with the territory. Depressed people aren't fun to be around in normal circumstances, so if you're depressed I imagine it would be magnified.

So you'd rather be the mopey one of the group bringing all the happy folks down?

      "Mopey" is not depression retard.
