Stretchmarks

Okay so I have stretchmarks on like 30%% of my lower body. My sisters have them too but definitely not as many as me. Plus mine are really dark, but theirs are light. I have them on the backs of my knees [which are the worst: they are so noticeable and dark!], a few on my kneecaps, and a lot on the insides of my thighs, on my hips, and on my booty. I know that stretchmarks are common on the last three stated, but definitely not on the backs of your knees. My mom says its because I'm "fat", but I'm 130 and I'm 5'3. Really fat people don't even have those! IS IT NORMAL??????

Stretchmarks aren't about your body weight, it's about your skin's elasticity.

First, you're mom is a bitch.
Second, relax. You're normal. Strech marks apprear for a few reasons. Maybe you're gaining some muscle mass or going through a growth spurt. Even a growth of less than half an inch can cause them to form. And you can keep growing up to the age of 25. You're sisters are lighter probably because they've faded some. To help speed up the recovery try rubbing lotion on it. I recommend shea butter as a good solution. Treat it everyday because new ones will probably form as you grow older.

I have stretchmarks as well. On my thighs, caps, buttocks. But it'll faded to a silvery color skin texture after a while. And yes I did gain pound, worsing with acne stimulating over my face because of hitting maturity. It's doesn't help that my skin is so thin.

    I'm 132lbs, and I"m 5'7 1/2

Not fat. Your skin just is more prone to them. I had them really bad when I was a teenager, on my inner thighs and butt and boobs. You can get a cream from your dermatologist, or use Bio-Oil. But, don't feel fat. Love yourself, stretch marks and all.

I've never heard of having them on the knee area, but stretchmarks are a pretty common thing, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe it would help to just think of them as "tiger stripes":P lol

Yeah it's normal. I'ma girl and I have them at the back on my knees, my upper arms, hips, inner thighs, and chest area. I hate them. I feel so insecure with them, but u know what? loads of people have them and they get on just fine in life so the problem is with how u deal with it. don't worry about the ones at the back of ur knees. The only reason that they're red is cause they are new they fade away with time and sometimes become un-noticable. They come form because of a lack of a chemical that gives skin elacticity. Some poople use oils to minimize them. I haven't tried it though. It can also be cause my weightloss and not just weight gain. I'm overweight but I, like you, have noticed that people far heavier than I don not have them. When I started exercising and dieting I lost weight and my stretch marks got worse. Anyway, if urs are still dark there are creams people use to get rid of them, but they have to be new. Ask a doctor about this, and good luck!
