Strange recurring dream...

When I was younger, I would often fantasize about being a cowboy in the wild west. Countless summer days were spent reenacting famous outlaw stories I had heard in story books. As I grew older, I grew out of this cowboy fixation and ultimately forgot about it during my adolescent years.

Today I am 18 years old and about to head off to college. For the past 4 months or so I have had the strangest, most vivid dream I have ever experienced or even heard of. The dream begins with me being in a rather mountainous area of the wild west. I cannot move but I can hear two men talking with rather excited tones to their voice. I cannot understand what they are talking about but I somehow understand that they are in a hurry.

After a while, the speakers come into view with their back facing me. It then occurs to me that they are gold or silver prospectors, as I notice their extremely dirty clothes and pickaxes. As soon as I make this realization, one of them turns around and stares me in the eye. I cannot begin to describe the horror of this prospectors face. He looks as if he is 90 years old and has a white beard down to his knees. His face is contorting and seizing seemingly uncontrollably and black liquid (oil?) is oozing from his mouth.

The other man soon turns around and I see that his body is human, tall and slender, yet his face is that of a horse. This horse man has extremely buck teeth and is buzzing his lips and shaking his head back and forth.

I then look into the eyes of the horse man and can see the reflection of the object that has driven these men to madness. I see a bed of the most beautiful gold one can imagine, but with a slight twist. I am the gold, and my face is clearly visible embedded in the gold. They rush towards me screaming and as soon as they bring their pickaxes down to harvest me, I awake in a cold sweat.

There's definitely something there, because you've managed to describe your dream in detail. See if you can get yourself dream about what happens next, if it doesn't frighten you too much. I usually think such vivid dreams are caused by anxiety or high stress situations. You mentioned you're about to enter college. That could be one of the reasons. Maybe you could detach yourself from being the bed, and become the old man, if it makes any sense. Lol. Then you could see things from a new perspective. Some people have the skill to twist dreams to their liking. Maybe those guys are clows... Who knows?

It sounds like you realize that the materialism of the corporate world will take advantage of you when possible. not only have they ruined the hope of the new world but the new young spirit of your boyhood.

  • man I wish I could have recurring dreams, I believe your dreams can tell you many things. It might be telling you that you could possibly be a murder victim or something. You are going to a university you know. Not that I'm trying to scare you, but I've had dreams of actual things that happen to me later on months down the road.

Once I had a dream about a guy I never met before and in the dream he was with a girl in walmart and as I walked by he laughed at me. A few weeks later this same guy worked at a business in the same shopping center as me and came in often, and flirted with me I didn't notice it was him until after he quit and after I saw him in walmart with his girlfriend! and yes he laughed at me while walking by just like in my dream. I kid you not I almost hyper-ventilated in walmart.

Oh yeah and I've had dreams about places I was moving to, and I had a dream that a friend of mine got hit by a car on her bike, and she did, but was ok. I don't know why I have these dreams, but I wish I didn't.

  • While I cannot interperet your dream as such I think the reason you could be having this dream is your having thoughts of when you get to college you are the new one there the youngest maybe. This will stir thoughts in your mind of when you were young. Your going from being on the top of the heap to being the noob of the college the same fears you would have had being younger or youngest at school like a junior
