I would respect him more, because he had the curage and respect for me to tell me
I'd be surprised I hadn't worked it out before, or that he hadn't told me before, but aside from that it wouldn't really matter.
Since girls don't let guys know if they are cute or nice, it is really flattering when gay guys compliment me.
I know my boyfriend pretty well, and we've discussed this topic before. If he found out his best friend was gay he would treat him the same, or at least try, but would undoubtedly end up distancing himself from him a little. His friend is straight, but likes to grab his ass so it would be too awkward for him to know all those gay jokes had meaning.
I truly don't care. i'm a straight guy writing this post with my gay friend right next to me now. Shit people make gays seem like the devil in the flesh. come on now world please start growing up.
That exact thing happened to me a few years ago! He's still my friend, and I have no fears he'll ever try to shag me. Plus, I get to see why gay (homosexual) men are so gay (original meaning of the word)! Now I'm gay too - but still straight.
Absolutely wouldn't care, one of my best friends in highschool told me he was a cross dresser years later. I was his only close guy friend. I would go to gay coffee shops and bars with him without a problem. I learned a lot from that experience.
Friend: 'Dude... I'm gay'
Me: 'that's cool! are you going to eat that hot pocket?'

I actually had a friend that just recently told me he was Bi. It didn't change anything between us. If anything it just made us a little closer because we had something interesting and personal to talk about.
If anyone here answers "I will break it off with him", he doesn't deserve to have friends.

No. Because you are a bigot. Why discriminate against a guy who has been your best friend just cause he likes guys. There ain't nothing wrong with that man. He's not forcing you to change yourself. He's not hitting on you. So why not accept him for who he is.
I would accept the fact that he's gay. But i just wouldn't accept him as a friend anymore. I mean, look at all the questions posted on this site asked by gay guys who are crushing on their straight best friend. I wouldn't want something like that happen to me. It would be really awkward. It's just...i can't even imagine the shame.
Honestly I will never understand why people would have a problem with it, I don't think someone being gay deserves more respect, nor do i think they deserve less respect, they are people like you and me, only difference is the gender preference. I could care less about who my straight friends sleep with, so why would I care about who my gay ones sleep with? They are all my friends and I have so many wonderful memories and bonds built with my friends, both gay and straight. I hate bigotry and don't understand why someone would treat another human different just because they like something different than you. I wont try and compare the bigotry for homosexual to the bigotry of racism but it's all horrible and while I do respect an opinion of someone who hates homosexuals or does not want to associate with them or even will break off a relationship with them, I will say that I find you as a person unpleasant and really need to take a better look at life and your worldviews.
My bestfriend might be gay or bisexual but he dosen't say anything. I indirectly hinted to him thst I am okay with it. It's okay with me as long as he dosen't try anything on me :p
Tell him that I never want to see him again.

It would change things I'm sure especially if he showed interest like that
