What do you think of a STRAIGHT guy who prefers watching GAY porn (no woman) to porn involving a woman or women and who claims that gay porn is his favourite?

1 - He isn´t straight if he prefers that (maybe gay or bisexual)

2 - He watches porn for reasons that have nothing to do with sexual excitement

3 - He either isn´t straight or watches porn for reasons that have nothing to do with sexual excitement

4 - That´s fine - there is nothing inconsistent about it

    I do agree that sometime we watch porn that might not arouse us as effectively in real life as opposed to the on-screen counterparts, but if you can sit through gay porn like that, on a consistent basis, you would be lying to yourself if you don't think your at the very least Bi.

    I have a different opinion than what's posted. I think he's just sexual and experimentiong. People just do that shit. Especially if they're young. I don't however, understand rape or violent porn :/ that's just not cool

      If you are a straight or bisexual woman, it´s completely understandable that gay porn is very exciting to you as you are (by definition) sexually aroused and sexually attracted to men. However, it´s different in case of a straight guy because he is "supposed" to be sexually attracted to and aroused by women - not by men as you are. That is why it can´t be compared.

          You are right that people might be attracted to things that are alien to them. On the other hand, they are not attracted to everything which is alien to them... The interesting part of it is why some of the things fascinate them and others do not. In addition, people have sexual interests which fascinate them all their life and familiarity doesn´t destroy that fascination. That is why I think that the explanation why particular things arouse us must be more complex. However, what you wrote can be one of the factors which influence that in some cases.

    I don't think there's anything inconsistent about it. I occasionally watch it and don't even know why. Just for a change, perhaps. It's difficult finding something I like, though. It's usually all these muscle guys, shaved all over, and oiled up. Too fake for me.

      I think that quite a lot of people who watch porn on the Internet have watched a porn genre which is not their cup of tea and some of them do so from time to time - just out of curiosity or for whatever reason. However, I find it quite different from the situation when it´s someone´s favourite porn genre. In my opinion, strong preference for that and watching it without having preference for that are two different things with different implications.

      As straight sexual orientation and preference for gay porn seem consistent to you, I´d really like to know what consistency you mean - i.e. what you find consistent about that. Based on the concept of sexual orientation, straight guy is (by definition) sexually attracted to and sexually aroused by (and only by) women. It means that in gay porn, there is no “object“ of his sexual interest as no woman is involved. If a guy says 1) he is straight and 2) gay porn is his FAVOURITE porn genre, I wonder how these things are compatible in your opinion and why you think (as you seem) that there is no mismatch between sexual orientation and porn preferences of such a man.

        You're right. It isn't my overwhelming preference and, if it was, I would wonder why it was at odds with my sexuality.

        When I answered your question, I was very much thinking with the female side of my brain and thinking about a woman who told me that she watches lesbian porn despite having no attraction to women because she empathises with the person receiving pleasure and imagines herself receiving that pleasure.

        You make a good point, though, that the male sexuality more often needs to objectify in an almost selfish way. If I ever am aroused by gay porn, it's usually the idea that someone is deriving pleasure from my body or that I am doing something which gives them pleasure. It doesn't seem to matter to me whether that's a woman or a man, just that I'd much sooner it was a woman. The way I approach it is the same, though.

          I never watch lesbian porn so I may be wrong here but with most girl-girl the girls appear feminine/are straight. There's an over-abundance of the genre aimed to please hetero males. If it involved two women or even just one woman who gave off (mainly) masculine vibes that would be a turn off. So I say we start a special interest group demanding more straight guy on straight guy porn!
