States should have more power

The federal government was never supposed to be so powerful. How come some snowflake born in California or a yankee can make my state do things it doesnt want to do? Ever wish these snowflakes had less control and states could do what they wanted?

I think it should be more in depth. Some votes should come down to a community level. Not just an entire state.

Local goverment needs more control policy wise.

But then again I'm gonna guess that 95% of you dont even know the name of your own mayor so...

Honey, the city I live in is so politically corrupt, it doesn’t matter. It’s so bad that we are about to get a casino and the tribe that was backing it wants to tap out Bc it’s not the property they had originally agreed to.

Red state living is really where it's at.

That being said I live in a rural area of a swing state so it's kinda ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the problem with our red states is all these rich northerners and californians flee to our area and buy houses with cash. They say they love the low taxes. Then they Immediately vote to raise taxes, change guns laws, and they bring their liberal stuff to the schools. My sister is a teacher these parents are demanding gender neutral bathrooms in the schools now. They just moved in and already complaining about the city and how its not progressive enough for them. I just went ahead and moved an hour away so my kids domt have to grow up in those schools. I suspect in the next 20 years this area will be overun with them as well.

I believe you are correct with your assessment.

The biggest reason that the current structure has evolved is that states want to have Federal Funding for a lot of things - and that funding comes with strings... allowing the Federal Government to dictate things that would otherwise be under State Control.

If the states were to self fund many things... they could break most of those ties (except there are some things are are Constitutionally under Federal Control: Interstate Commerce, etc). But, just like many people... Free money - even with conditions - is just too attractive to turn down.
