Squeezed coke bottle...

My parents are fond drinkers of Diet Dr. Pepper, and my mom always buys her Dr. Peppers in 2-liter bottles.

Whenever were sitting at a table and they pour their drinks, they often times use one hand and slightly dent the bottle. They put the cap back on the bottle and now it has this dent in the bottle.

For whatever reason it bothers me a lot. I am unable to leave the bottle sitting there without popping the dent back out and replacing the cap. Is this normal?

Yeah It annoys me too, a way to put the dent out is put the lid on an shake it, it creates gas which fills the bottle and pops it out again, simples.

They squeeze the bottle so there is less oxogen in it therefor keeping the soda carbonated longer.

I think this is completely normal... so long as it doesn't become an obsession.

It could be a mild form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, again which is normal and very common.

You only need worry if this extends to other things in your life and takes over, effectively ruling your life e.g. "If i dont switch the light switch off and on 59 times, someone will die".

Everyone has little things that nags at them or bothers them... a very common one I find is, on a digital readout, for example on a stereo... People dont like using the odd numbers, they will only leave it on 50, 52, 52... however 55, 33 or any equal seems to be okay too, even though its odd.

Just little quirks we have about visual aesthetics.
