I think the decision really should be between 'don't cum in my mouth' or 'swallow'. If you don't want to swallow it, don't let the guy cum in your mouth.

Spitting is kind of a harsh comedown (punny) after you've cum - it's depressing when you orgasm and that's immediately followed by your lover spitting your fluids into a bin with a face of concern and disgust. As a guy, I think the best rule of thumb is, it's a two-way street. If you expect your chick to swallow, then you better damn well shut up and keep going when you are going down on her and she starts to squirt.
