Speaking in public...

I realize that this is probably quite normal, but I want to see how many others there are that this happens to.

I always get really nervous when speaking in public. In class, for example, I'll raise my hand to share some thought that I have pretty well planned out in my head, then when I go to say it I stumble, turn red, and the thought comes out an incoherent mess. My eyes shift all over the room, I try not to look at anyone.
The weirdest part about it is that I start shaking, and it continues for a few minutes after I have finished what I had to say.

Does anyone know how to get past this?

    I use to be like that when I was young still get nervous...I use to think if i messed people would talk about forever... But truth is people forget right away so just make a joke of it...

  • I shake too!! Hate it!!! ... like in English we had a discussion and i was shaking like crazy aaah i don't know what to do.

    i think everyone feels some measure of it when public speaking. imagine being the one standing up at the front of the class.

    the more familiar you are with something, the less it will affect you. check out what poison suggests.
