Spacing out

I space out a lot. It often happens when people are talking to me, which is annoying, because then I have no idea what's just been said and must employ the "nodding and ummming" technique. Sometimes, I'll know how important it is to listen (instructions are being given etc) and I'll remind myself to concentrate, yet the spacing out still occurs.

Oh, and when I space out, a lot of the time, I'll be thinking about something random and it's as though I can't stop my mind from wandering. I bet this is normal :P

I keep spacing out, and I frequently notice it, but I've given up on asking them to tell me again.. They just become angry and won't tell you anyway. It's pretty exhausting really. I like listening to people, but I just can't help it.. I've found it easier to use my eyes rather than my ears.. I can take in more, read in my own pace.. don't have to ask again what the other person said..

It depends on your perspective....... Instead of seeing it as something bad you should start seeing it as an ability.....
So what do you do with abilities......(powers)
You learn to control them.... This is something that you should have thought of long ago....
Imagine being able to turn the switch button on command.... the possibilities...And because this is something that happens regularly. It is much easier to practice.....Meditation is something that might help.....just breath...

I space out a lot. My hubby will be talking to me and I'm like ya, uh-huh, wait, what did you say? I also do it when I'm driving sometimes. Not like I'm gonna crash or anything, just I'll be thinking of who knows what and when I focus on my surroundings again, I'm like where am I?? I takes a minute sometimes to realize that I'm somewhere in my own town usually. Silly stuff

I have ADHD and take Adderall for it. it helps immensely. =) before I started it, I spaced out constantly. I still do, but very rarely. Def. go talk to your doctor. just make sure to find one that works well for your mind AND body as far as side effects go. good luck.

Spacing out is normal, I do it sometimes, but if your spacing out that much, you should defiantly learn how to control it. :)

That's sort of cute, actually. But I would hope it is not normal. You probably need some advanced sort of concentrating exercises. Something involving shock therapy, which seems to work pretty well.

I, for one, would probably be annoyed with you if we were speaking and you didn't hear a word I said. How do you fair in school? Or in your job? How would you even be able to attain a job? These are serious questions that I would be interested in receiving an answer to.
