Sometimes i'll get paralyzed when i'm having a bad dream

It happened for the first time in a long time last night. I was having a bad dream, and depending on the severity usually i can just wake myself up. Last night I dreamed that i was running from someone and it was like my legs were made out of led and i couldn't move fast enough (this happens kind of often also). I tried to wake up but i couldn't move. I had to concentrate and think really hard about moving. It was like that thing that sends signals from your brain to your body was broken or not responsive and i had to use my brain a little bit too much to get my body to do what it was told. The crazy thing was that i was completely calm. o.0

  • I have it too and it sucks!like I usually can c myself trying diff things to wake ip like turn on the tv our push my eyes open but im still dreaming so none of this is actually happening yet you know you want to get up!it's very frustrating but what I found helps out is if instead of fighting to try and wake ursrlf u relax...and stay calm and focus on opening ur eyes slowly and control ur breathing then u can wake up faster.it prob sounds super gay lol but fick it it works lol

Has happen to me too. But I have noticed it's only when I am on my back. So I try hard to stay on my side to prevent waking like that. I hate that feeling of not being able to move.

When you sleep your body tries to act out everything you're dreaming and to stop people from hurting themselves the brain automatically paralyzes you. In most people it stops when you wake up, but sometimes you can wake up before it's completely gone.
