Sometimes i feel like i'm living in the wrong time.

Ok, so I'm not a complicated person, and I sometimes wonder if I was just born in the wrong time? Every now and then I think it would just be so much better and simpler if I lived in the dark ages, became a knight, and lopped off peoples heads for a living instead of having to learn all this useless stuff about crap I don't need to know about, and taking test after test in college to see If I can eventually get a job somewhere working at a job I don't like just so I can feed my family and myself later on in life. Is that normal?

Do you belive in past lifes??? ... I do. That could quiute possiby be your reason for feeling "in the wrong time", because you were once living in a different time. If you don't believe in past lifes ... and rencarnation... then trying googling people's stories, some of them are hard not to believe. Or perhaps the reason you feel that way is because you just don't like the way that society is.. and how it expects us to be.

I feel this way too but I think I'm more in Coralia's corner. It isn't so much that I feel I was born in the wrong time but that I feel like I've been born several times over in different times and as different species...maybe even as plantlife...maybe not even on Earth lol.
I think though if I were going to label my discontent with anything going on in my life right now I would have to agree with a couple other poster about an unrest with society today along with a craving for something stronger or more profound...lol I'm not even sure really and now I'm ranting.

I feel the same way! As I am really interested in art and literature, I almost never read books or poetry that is modern. I read Susan Hill, Poe, Lovecraft etc.) I wear clothes and tunics that have victorian influence, like, lacey tops, etc. I wish people still dressed the way they did in the 1700's & 1800's. I love they way they spoke, their manners, their art, just, everything. I also believe I may feel this way because of my spirit guide, Lucian. He died in 1845, and so he is/was a victorian. We are very close.

I am the same way. I often wish I could have been a 1950's housewife/stay-at-home-mom. This working for a living blows! But in today's world, it's pretty much IMPOSSIBLE for only one person to work and support the family.

  • This sounds more like a violent fantasy than appreciation of the past. Perhaps you are on the wrong career path.

    Have you considered meat processing?

Born at a very bad time myself which i really wish that i could've been born many years sooner. And finding real love in those days did really come so much easier the way that our family members had it which today it is like trying to win the lottery since most of the women now are nothing at all like the past.

I know exactly what you mean! I often imagine how great my life would be if i lived in the 1500s in a teepe - i wish i was native american. Imagine fishing hunting just sitting in the forest and at night staring up at the stars. Ugh i hate how society is today! Go to school get an office job live in the suburbs...ehhh

you know. It IS possible to live your life as you want to nowaday, if you work hard enough. You should check out those medieval groups on the net. Here we have something call GN, we have villages and people gather there and completely disconnect from the outside world. You become who you want to be and act as such. You can stay there for 2 weeks if you like. No cars, no watches, no Ipod, no capitalism... you even have to cook ur own food. people say its the best thing vs stress. You could work there... or just go there for vacation. While enjoying our 21st century goods :P

I'm not quite sure if it's normal or not. But it made me laugh so thanks. Especially the part about lopping heads off.

i would say its becaus eu have a problem with society, i wish i were born in the 50's just so i could grow up in 60's and 70's, to me it would have been a much freer time period based on my beliefs today

I agree. I totally wish I were a well-born Victorian lady. I love being sweet, soft-spoken, affectionate and proper. I'm obsessed with the Victorian Age and I know back then a grand lady was the angel of the home and went to extravagant parties and dressed in lovely, divine clothing, even the corsets are wonderful to me. I know there were a lot of difficulties in those times but I think I would be good with it. I certainly would go farther being nice and gentile in those days than in these ones! Still, I have fun nowadays; I just know completely what you%%u2019re talking about!

Ironically in those ages, people did learn similar things to what we learn now... I wish I lived in the Renaissance though, such a beautiful and amazing time period. Artistic, dreamy, I love the creativity of that time. I get where you are coming from though, sometimes I wish the same thing.
