The night before last, after leaving a very seedy bar, I suddenly need to take a piss. So I turn into this dark alley and after walking in there a few steps I see this guy leaning against a garbage can with his pants pulled down and getting his hard boner sucked by some older, balding guy with a beard. Seeing this gave me an instant hard-on. My desire to piss left me. They both saw me watching them but continued their session until completion. Afterwards they just smiled. When the bearded guy asked me if I wanted to go next, I got out of there. I'm hetero. At least I think I am. Was it normal for me to get turned on seeing this? I was real close to having gay sex and that's kind of scary. I know that I am not gay, but I stayed TO WATCH THIS.

Oh get over yourself. So you were turned on by a sexual act that was going on in front of your eyes. Who wouldn't be? Why are men so fragile over their sexuality. Straight girls dont get all weirded out if they get turned on by a woman.

I even saw a documentary that investigated this. Straight men were shown porn and they wore something on their peen that measured the boner. These men were shown hetero sex and men on their own masturbating and I think also gay male sex. The thing was they got a boner for the straight as well as single man/ gay sex ones and the funny thing is they reported not being turned on by the gay ones- even in the face of their boner. Who are they trying to fool?

Straight men are so uptight about their sexuality.

  In the US: 61% of homophobic attacks were against gay men, 14% against lesbians
  
  Jamaica: Male homosexuality is ILLEGAL, female homosexuality is LEGAL. There are Jamaican 'murder songs' promoting the murder of male homosexuals (not female), and many, many men have been seriously assaulted or killed for homosexuality.
  
  Have a look at this list:

  Overwhelmingly the victims are male. Even a lot of 'female sounding' names in that list are actually for male transgender people.
  
  Homophobic laws and societal animosity have historically targeted non-straight men.
  
  The stigma attached to being 'experimental' with your sexuality is far less for females than males in most countries.
  
  So I'd say the 'uptight' attitude you've described is at least in part about the legitimate fear of prejudice males face in being anything other than 100% heterosexual.

    This rather proves the point that men are uptight about homosexuality as she'd said. Entire societies, mostly when it comes to men, are extreme against homosexuality, that seems pretty uptight. It certainly seems like men need to accept that they are almost -all- slightly gay and rather freaked out by it.

      As you can see by my posts, I wasn't attempting to prove that men aren't uptight about sexuality, just that the uptight attitude is self-perpetuating due to the prejudice men face if they try and be sexually open and non-conformative.
      
      My contention was really with blaming OP for being worried about his 'straightness' - that fear is symptomatic of a society which puts tremendous pressure on men to fulfil this heterosexual masculine stereotype.
      
      And though men are the driving force behind homophobic attacks against other men, women play a part in it too - there are plenty of women who are vehemently against male homosexuality and will vilify any man who is less than straight. Globally, everybody needs to move towards a more progressive stance on sexuality.
      
      Let's not blame guys for feeling particularly insecure about their sexuality, when that insecurity is instilled in them from an early age. Breaking down prejudice isn't done by making people worried about facing prejudice feel like idiots :P

      Why men aren't more willing to be honest about not being entirely straight is a reasonable question to ask. And in part it can be answered by that additional prejudice non-straight men face.
      
      But, I'd add a caveat, and that's the perpetrators of violence and shaming against non-straight men are also predominantly male. Men punishing other men for not being 'real men'. It's all so stupid :/
      
      I'd also add that, because of that pressure to stay within a prescribed sexual shell, our awareness of what is and isn't normal is distorted; guys won't talk about that kinda thing with each other. Hence all the blokes who are 'confused' about what it means when they get a boner after seeing gay sex :P

Maybe it wasn't the homosexuality that aroused you, but rather the act of public sex. Or perhaps the act of sex involving an older man. Or bearded sex. Or dirty garbage can alley sex. Think of all the possibilities because it's extremely rare to be gay or bisexual.
