Someone told me i had a "rapist's wit". iin?

I was out at the bar with some friends and we're all drinking, laughing and joking. I cracked this joke that had everyone dying of laughter.

After the laughing died down, one of my friends turns to me and says "Wow, you've got a rapist's wit!!"

I decked him right then and there!! How dare he liken me to a rapist!! Totally ruined the evening.

Is it normal for your friend to turn on you like this, especially after you make an awesome joke?

    Your friend cracked a joke on you like this, and you consider that to be "turning" on you? Damn, either you're moody as fuck or you need to cut down on the booze. Are you one of those people that complains about drama in their lives constantly?

    Anyway, rapists wit IS an actual phrase, although I have not heard it used often. It means you have a sharp wit, like that of the point of a rapier. They were calling you clever. Congrats, asshole, you punched a guy for giving you a compliment. LOL a guy calls you clever and you react like that, what an irony of epic proportions...

      Actually, you got it wrong.

      The saying is RAPIER wit. A rapier is a sword. Rapist, lol.

      The joke is, I was a drunken dumbass who doen't know a common saying and so I hit my friend who had just called me clever because I misheard him and am dumb and thought he called me a rapist.

        I was wondering why "rapists wit" did not sound like something I have heard in a while.

        I get the joke... but it's kind of a stupid joke =/ I just went and looked it up. And it is not really common here in the states. I have never heard of a rapier's wit before. Like I said, I just looked it up.

    Can you remember the joke you originally made that had everyone dying of laughter? I'm really curious as to what it was that made your friend compare you to a rapist.

    I'd assume it was a compliment. Good rapists don't get caught, everyone knows being a successful criminal requires a high level of intelligence. No matter how sane, they're still smarty panstssss's'szz.

    (FYI: I'm not saying I'm cool with rape, I'm just being factual and providing my opinion. Rape is not okay, ever.)

    You probably have some aggressive mental issues. I mean punching a guy in the face over that? Yeah he said that you have 'a rapist wit' but for all I know it could have meant as a joke, witch it probably were.
