I'm surprised that there wasn't an option for exactly like you as that was what the question seemed to imply. I definitely would not want someone exactly like me as there would be no surprises and probably not much excitement either. The Similar option is pretty much a bit of both , similar wont be the same, which is good as they have some things in common , it allows interests to fuel conversation and activities but a complete opposite, then what the hell you meant to do together ?

You could be surprised to find out that they are not exactly like you.

Yeah you could, but you probably wouldn't start off thinking someone is exactly like you , that something you would build up to when you learnt about their interests and beliefs etc. Its more likely you start off thinking someone similar from small things, so the surprise when meeting someone is most likely to be their similar when you thought they not or not similar when you thought they were.

  • I would want them to be like me because I could relate to them and have similar intrests and beliefs.

Well I am sometimes stubborn and overly analytical and I have a dark sense of humour. However I cant imagine dating myself that would be creepy.

So I guess someone similar enough where we wont bump heads but with some of the qualities I lack. I think maybe a goth who is not extremely liberal but believes in gay rights.

I believe in strict order and I don't agree with people who would defend a peadophile and say "Let him go" since hes a "HUMAN". Simply being human does not dissolve you of all crimes.

Its not like we treat animals this way. If we have no sympathy for animals than why should we have sympathy for someone who willingly did something like this for no real reason? We would kill a dog for defending its master from a robber. So why the fuck should we give so much respect to rapist and peadophiles? That dead dog has more worth than that worthless piece of shit. Yet law still killed it and save the fucking pervert. A lot of justice there.

I would date someone who is financially independent, mature, can make me laugh and it at least as smart as I.

Similar – I've always found it easier to talk about my own interests, & could do so all day – but if I’m with someone who's nothing like me I struggle to keep a conversation going.

similar in major important areas but different enough to keep it interesting.

I think a little of both might be best. If she was exactly like me then we'd be too selfish to get along.

It doesn't matter. We are all the same.
