So did anyone else

I sat here all day, thanksgiving, I am single and live alone, I have family in town, I got let me count, oh, no phone calls or texts to see if I had plans for dinner. I'm to a point of going to another state and just living life without them. Anyone else feel like they could use a different family sometimes.?

    • I pretty much laid around watched movies. I found that laying around in a bra and pantyhose very comfy, and yet if someone came to door I could still cover up quick enough. No one around to disagree or tell me to put clothes on over. There pros and con's both of living alone. I hate it, and I can't even have a dog here.

You could move to a place where they allow dogs

        • I'm on a lease so I can't yet. Moving for me is such a pain, I'm losing my vision and I can't drive. Its hard getting someone to just drive and help even with that. I worked as a mover for 7 years so the packing and all is not a problem.

            • Vision won't improve, in fact might continue getting worse. Autoimmune Retinopathy. Where the body attacks itself.

I have family that is not blood and blood that is not family. I have made a family. We take care of each other. I have been in line at a store. An a family member standing right in front of me. We never spoke. F them I can do fine on my own. Took off when I was 15 and tried going back at 19. I only kept in contact with my grandma and when she passed. I never looked back.

The honest answer is probably...either they don't like you or they have tried in the past but you have put them off in some way (declined, been a jerk, not contributed, etc). You're asking 'why didn't they invite me?' and not 'why WOULD they invite me?' So, try to make an honest list of the reasons why they should've invited you besides just being related and living close by, those aren't very compelling reasons. What do you offer?

    • Its a much longer story then I have room for here, and NO I DID NOT ask why they did not invite me. I simply said what I said. But you are way off with your assumptions. I was not crying the blues for not being invited.

Whatever, bud. "I have family in town, I got let me count, oh, no phone calls or texts to see if I had plans for dinner" sure sounds like complaining or whining to me, especially with that particular wording (emotional, instead of just plainly stating a fact).

It's not a stretch to assume your family has issues with you, since none of them reached out. It's more probable than thinking every single family member is crazy/in cahoots in some plot against you/are all total meanie shit heads. But whatever. Do what you feel is right for your situation...move on either by getting past the issues, letting go or cutting them off.

        • I simply stated I had no calls from family to see if I had plans for dinner. Then I asked if anyone else wished they had different family. Just as in text messages, the tone of what is said can be highly misconstrued
