Smiling when delivering bad news

I can't help it. I smile when I deliver bad news. I usually want to tell someone when someone dies, or gets tragically hurt. I don't laugh, just smile. Stuff like that kinda... well, kinda gives me a rush? I don't know how to explain it. I just know that when bad stuff happnens, I want to tell people. I also enjoy on seeing their reactions. Maybe it has something to do with wondering things about human reaction and why they do it, but I'm not sure... does this make me a horrible person?

Yes, this is normal. Smiling doesn't necessarily indicate happiness. Many things can trigger laughter, smiling, or even crying: nerveousness, excitement, happiness, surprise (good and bad), physical pain, and circumstances that aren't everyday and for which there is no social norm, such as announcing a death. Most people will be understanding of that, so don't worry.

You like eliciting a response out of people. Put another way, you're an attention wh0re.

When something terrible happens on the news but it doesn't affect you directly, like 9/11, you feel excited don't you?

It's not uncommon, but it's not desirable either.

Yes it is normal. I dont know why but i have that too. I came across this by trying to see if it had a name so when people asked me why i could tell them its a real thing. I dont smile when i recive bad news only when i give it. It may be because you are glad it didnt happen to you or maybe for some people if they are fiving bad news about the person they are fiving it to it could be like i said because it isnt to you. I have tryed to hide it but it makes it worse. I have tryed adding to the bad story with something others could find funny so it seems normal that im smiling but that just turns into an akward mess. The best way is for someone to come up with a namw for it and that way we can explain why we do it and that its not just us. It has even aired on TV. In the show modern famil claire apears to have it when she is telling her son luke that his older freind passed away. I will come up with a name now and hopfuly everyone that reads this will let it continue on so this condition will be known. It is called smile fever condition. I know its not the beat but maybe if someone with a better name can reply that would be great. Also sorry for any typos.

I do it ALL the time, i really love to be the bearer of bad news. I love the reactions certain things get. While others are laughing at something, I'm laughing along with them, but for completely different reasons. I love reactions and the look on a person's face when they give them. I'm usually the one who looks like a freak for watching my friend's faces rather than the movie when we go to the theater. This doesn't make you a horrible person, however it does make you different, I say enjoy it!

really? I avoid telling people bad news at any cost. Sounds kind of sadistic to me that you people enjoy it.
