Sleeping w/t arms above my head and pillow/blanket in my legs

This has been ongoing for years now, and i just have not seen a doctor because i dont feel its a serious issue.

I can not fall asleep unless my arms are laying above my head(on my side i have a pillow under my head and a pillow ontop of my head, arm over the pillow above my head, and hands locked together, creating a very small amount of pressure on my head)Its really weird but i will not feel tired unless i have the pillow over my head and my arms locked creating that small pressure. its like a relief as soon as the pillow and arm are there..also, it drives me nuts having my arms touching my sides, mainly the armpit area.

also, i cant stand my thighs, knees, ankles and feet touching and because of this i sleep with pillows and blankets jammed in between my legs. I have been told that I have tight pelvic muscles and thats why i have to have a pillow in between my legs because it relieves some tension. but that still doest give me a full explanation why i am such a freak.

helpful info: i have struggled with insomnia my entire life, back pain(doc says is muscular), and hip pains(doc says is my flexors but i disagree)

yah i have to be on my left side as well. my husband told me he watched me sleep last night, and said all i did was move. so i'm thinking maybe i'm not hitting the deepest stage of sleep

You seem to have developed a comfort, so nothing else works for you, which is fine.
I'll often sleep with a pillow, or the sheet between my legs if I'm warm, so the don't touch.
I can't sleep with a pillow over me, but I do need my arms up near my face.

this is something serious i think...
even i sleep with arms over my head, locked, but now to create some pressure, and i can sleep normal too, must be some case of sleep disorder or some other thing.....
    better consult a specialist......
