Sleeping next to a snorer

Okay, I share a room with my sister. She s'nores really really loud. God I wake up in the middle of the night every night, wanting to pinch her in the face. I'm losing sleep and I honestly think it isn't fair...is this normal?

I kind of like sleeping with a snorer. It makes me feel safe for some reason. I think it's either because I live by myself and if I have a snorer in bed it reminds me that I have a man "protecting" me that night, or because my dad used to snore. Weird. I know.

  • It usually helps if you pinch their nose for a few seconds.

Yes, I completely and utterly feel the need to punch people in the face when they snore, it's totally normal

normal, annoying, disturbing... OK. but dont pinch her... she cant do anything about it. well, some people snore because of illness: maybe her case is treatable...let her see a doctor. or maybe she sleeps on her back: that body position may cause snoring. tell her te sleep on her side...

normal? yes. should you have to deal with it? not really. especially since it's your sister and not your spouse.

  • I think it's normal because my mom snores sometimes and even tho it doesn't really bother me..it's still kind of weird..I mean, I don't see how people don't wake themselves up when they snore but if ur losing sleep from it u should tell her to sleep in the living room or u should sleep in the living room. Ooor if worst comes to worst u might want to buy her that thing she can put up her nose to make the snoring stop because it really isn't fair that ur losing ur sleep while she snores away happily, sleeping like a baby

I used to pinch their nose until they snap out of their snores.

I lightly kick my husband when he snores. Sometimes that doesn't work so I'll hold his nose. He's a hard sleeper.

i wouldn't recommend pinching their nose even though it does the trick.
ear plugs... yank on her blankets... tell your parents you need your own room for your sanity's sake.

I totally understand. My husband snores. My two cats snore. My 11 year old dog yips in her sleep. I've tried punching, nudging, pinching my husbands nose. I wake him up telling him I need sleep! He feels bad, but do you do? Sometimes I try to go to another room to sleep. The animals follow me and the process starts all over. I can hear my husband from the other room. I put on head phones. That helps.

I don't know about punching people in the face, but snoring is annoying.
