Sleep paralysis iin?

Is it normal to have sleep paralysis happen to you a lot? I use to have it when I was little but it went away for a long time popping up here and there during middle school and then it resurfaced in high school. The end of sophomore year throughout junior year was the worst.

Towards the end of sophomore year I'd have trouble breathing and sometimes struggle just to gasp for air and wake up breathing deeply.

Junior year I was having really bad nightmares.

During high school I knew what the problem was I was stressed. But now I'm a sophomore again in college and I'm not stressed.

It's starting to happen more often again. Last night was the most intense. I've never seen or heard things like some people have claimed. But Last night I heard whispers in my ear and felt someone's hands around me choking! It seemed the more I tried to wake up the more I got choked and the more the whispers increased. So I stopped struggling and I felt hands probing all over me.

IS THIS NORMAL?!

I experience sleep paralysis Normally when I fall asleep on my back and take a short, afternoon nap. The first time it happened, I dreamt someone was choking me and holding me down, only to finally be able to move and gasp for air. I’ve not had that dream again, but I still feel like I’m being choked and can’t breathe. Idk if it’s just the position I fall asleep in that cuts off air supply? I’ve learned to try not to panic and start by wiggling my toes or fingers. If I can focus on doing that, my body begins to wake up and I can move.

All the symptoms you describe are present in Lucid dreaming. this is probably what you are doing. it's nothing to be afraid of and if you can learn to control it (which is very doable) you all of a sudden will have the most awesome dreams ever. How'd you like to live like a billionaire for a while? Or how bout making love to the woman/man you find most attractive. The first thing to know is that you have to realize you are dreaming. then you'll be able to control your dreams little by little till you have complete control and then you can dream whatever you want.

My friend got it a lot and said she felt like there was something pushing her head into the pillow to suffocate her.

The funny thing is the first time this happened she thought it was her boyfriend playing a joke so she was pissed off at him when she regained control.

I cannot really answer you. I have had sleep paralysis myself, but not to the grade you have had it. and hopefully I won't have it this way either. try relaxing and not thinking of these things.

Sadly, yes. Maybe you should fix your sleep schedule? :)
