Sleep paralysis

So I've suffered with Sleep Paralysis all of my life. To explain it simply, it's the feeling of your mind waking up before your body and you not being able to move your body. Almost like you are stuck in a dream. I've done a lot of research in it and apparently everyone is supposed to experience it at least twice in their lives but have only met one so far that I can relate to. Anyone else had it?

I used to get sleep paralysis a lot when I was younger. The first time I had it was when I was about 12 or 13 and it happened about 3 times in one night. I was really scared to say the least. It's like you're mind is awake and functioning but you can't talk or move at all. I gradually got it less as I got older and now I can't even remember the last time I had it.

I heard that it happens when your hormones aren't synced properly. Sorry if I'm wrong (I read about this a long time ago) but I think everyone has a hormone that paralyzes the body so that when you fall asleep you can't act out your dream. People who sleep walk don't have enough of this hormone but people with sleep paralysis have too much. Also some people with sleep paralysis can feel like they are having out of body experiences. It is thought that people who claim they were abducted by aliens were just having a form of sleep paralysis.

Anyway, hope this helps. Sleep paralysis is not very common but normal as long as it doesn't cause you problems.

Oh ya and once you learn to watch your body sleep and enter sleep paralysis then you can have an out of body experience

I get that every day. as soon as i wake up i cant move for at least 5 minutes. a few times i saw the room from a different angle, only one time i saw myself. It felt alot realer than a dream though.

it must be normal, but i dont remember ever having it. most of the time i wake up and either dont want to talk or i just lay down for 1/2 a hour to a hour. but im pretty sure it is all on my own choice. or atleast that is what i think of...

oh I get this all the time and it's terrible. I'm always afraid to fall back asleep afterwards because I'll get it multiple times in one night. Usually it happens when I'm really stressed out.

This has happened to me on a regular basis from the time I was a kid and more frequent as an adult. I used to get so freaked out and think that something was trying to take over my body. Anyways about 2 years ago while this was happening I prayed and asked for this never to happen again. It stopped immediately! So I went online and researched and to my relief found out that it was sleep paralysis and then of course knowing it wasn't anything evil wanted it to happen again, but God kept him promise and it hasn't happened since :)

Well, I've suffered all my life I don't really think it's something that'll just go away. I've read it can be related to potassium levels in your body, also stress plays a big part too. It doesn't scare me as much as it used to as I'm more aware what's going on but at the same time I try harder to fight it!

i haven't had this happen to me in about a year or so, but i definitely have experienced sleep paralysis before. i used to get it almost everyday. it took all of my will power to move. it was really, really bad at one point. it was scary.
i tried explaining it to my husband but he just kept telling me i was dreaming.
i never went to see the doctor about it, but, if it continues to happen you might want their opinion, maybe they can do something to help you.

I've had that a couple of times. More when I was younger. My wides cousin has had that since he was a child. He's now a police officer with black belts in bbj and karate.

I woke up into sleep paralysis and I couldn't even turn my head then I started to hear whispering and from the corner of my eyes I saw grey floating blobs then before I could think there was a bald man in a white over coat standing right above me on my bed
