Both are supremely overpriced considering their quality. Essentially you are paying through the nose for an arbitrary brand name.

Get some actual studio grade headphones, such as the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros or better. Can't recommend those enough.

Judging from the shite music tastes of today's generation. Good sound quality is near pointless. It's just sounds.

But for real music, would you recemmemd Senheisers? I probably misspelt that.

Yes in fact I was going to put that down but for some reason didn't. Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic are the best brands I've bought from for headphones, great value and top quality audio.

PS: every generation has had somewhat shite music tastes, you just have to find decent music, and there is plenty of it in the past AND today.

All music is noise, when you pay for better monitors, recordings, amplifers, cables, digital audio converters/players you're paying for noise control. You don't go out and buy any headphones. You have to know what you like, what kind of music you like etc. Some headphones are purely analytical, the beyerdynamics are very detailed in certain regards. Whereas Sennheiser is a warmer signature that can muddy certain genres that are not bright to begin with, metal for example beyer would be better.

        Learn to appreciate noise: <a href="https://www.goldenears.philips.com/en/introduction.html" rel="nofollow">https://www.goldenears.philips.com/en/introduct...</a>

Test out mutiple monitors before buying, with the music you like. Many stores will give you loaner copies if you're a committed buyer.

Skullcandy is for people who want to look trendy, but don't really care about the quality of audio. The kind of people who buy for brand over functionality e.g. who bought iPods because everyone else bought iPods and didn't even look at non-Apple brands of mp3 players. Nothing wrong with that necessarily, just how it is.

I've purchased 4 mp3 players since 2008 2 Philips a 4gb and 8gb, then a Sony 16gb and my latest Zune 32gb HD touch. Someone I knew stored a iPod 2gb, I thought the thing was "gay". Is the iPod touch better or just as "gay"?

I'd say SkullCandy over Beats because one of the forums I inhabit was raped by SPAM about those headphones, vacation cruises, and foreign methamphetamine. Dx

They're way overpriced, but the audio quality of the beats is worlds better than Skullcandy. My family enabled me with Christmas money one year, and I couldn't help myself.

They're not good for DJ'ing though.

I think Beats are over rated. My best friend paid a ton of money for some and I just did not think they were worth it after I listened to a bunch of songs with them.

I would love to have Beats By Dre but I don't have that kind of money, so all I can afford it skullcandy

  • Yea same thing like Yumazing said...skullcandy is actually shit. With beats you won't hear a car accident even if it was right in front of you.
