Skinny vs. fat

Is this normal?

Everyone sees me as really "skinny," "tiny," "petite," etc. But I see myself as a big, fat whale.

I've been battling Anorexia for a long time. I've recently been treated for it. I've actually gained 10 pounds in a month and a half.

I hate it.

My stomach doesn't ache anymore for food... but it looks so fat. I'm serious. I look pregnant. With huge thighs. And a fat face.

Frig I HATE the way I look now!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

I just wanna be skinny again.

The fact that you can admit and recognize that you have an eating disorder is a great step. Recognizing that the way you feel isn't the way you really look is a difficult step to make. I too have been battling with some of this. I tried to pre-occupy my mind with things like studying (now I am in medical school) and that seemed to help quite a bit. I try not to think about it and when I eat, I think of it as a way of nourishing my brain (which I don't want to lose-and I realize that it means more then having the "perfect body") and my body. It is hard to say- girl- you have to learn how to love your body. I mean come on- who really loves their body?! If they say they do- they are probably lying. No one loves their body, but you can love yourself. That means eating to nourish your soul. I hope that this helps. Good luck and hang in there!

At least if Bud is pretending to be nice to make us look like the bad guys....he's still being nice. A small victory.

    I know how you feel.

People say I'm thin, but I see myself as fat. I lose a few pounds. It makes me happy, but mad because I'm no where near my target. It's so frustrating! I always see myself as fat.

I'm sorry you think this way. You're probably a wonderful beautiful person, but you should enjoy yourself more! You deserve to feel happy within yourself :)

If everyone else sees you as petite and skinny, then that's obviously what you are. The image you have of yourself is all in your head.

  • A picture would help. I used to weight a hundred more pounds so I understand the fear of gaining weight. In my profile, I am with a girl who is around 285lbs. I am mentioning this to prove that even if you are heavy, it is okay and people will love you.

    Just love yourself first.

    • No disrespect intended to our poster.

Well Bud even the girl you impregnated has doubts about you:

    • Thank you. Author, please excuse him. He is a little pissy due to me not continuing his little childish games.

But I will let his actions damn him and not respond back to them. I would however like to ask for him to list sources to prove he isn't talking out of his ass.

  • Boy - I am glad you are getting treatment. Your view of your body sounds kind of twisted and detached from reality there ... seems you a really struggling with it, so keep up the good work

    • Thanks! I'm still gaining a bit, but I am toning, since I am exercising a lot. My doc says I am much healthier now.

If you are being treated for anorexia then it is quite normal to think you are fat. I wish you the best of luck for getting through this.
