Significant dreams

Throughout my life I have dreamed many dreams. Most of these have long been forgotten. Some of the forgotten were funny, some sad, some scarry. All were dreampt, experieced and then left behind. Three dreams however stuck with me and still do.
In the first dream I left my body. I was laying on the ground and could feel and hear the wind. It gusted hard and pulled at me and I could feel my self being torn from my body. This happened several times and then finally I was freed of my body and was able to fly and travel all over. I could even go into other people but that made me feel evil and I recoiled from it.
In the second dream someone handed me a vile. I drank its contents and was transformed into a lion. As a lion I was walking along side someone talking with them when I became concerned that people would not know I was still in there and was relieved when I realized I had a cross hanging from my neck and picked it up with my paw and looked at it. When this dream ended it was devestating and I cried when I woke up. This dream has affected me profoundly.
In the third dream I found my self in heaven but knew I did not belong there yet. I remember that I was part of a parade and was walking along with others. This dream did not affect me strongly but I remembered it when I woke up and it has stuck with me. IIN?

Is it normal that dreams stick with you? Sure is. One time I dreampt I was being tested to see if I could navigate from one end of a village to the other end. They were marked the blue end and the red end. Half way through navigating the sky turned purple. On top of that a bunch of village migits came out and started throwing electric onions at my head. They stunk like rotting garlic. I awoke still feeling electrocuted with the putrid smell of rotting garlic in my nose. Weirdest. Dream. Ever.

    They sound symbolic. Google it

Dreams are weird. I've had dreams that I dream over and over again, and dreams that are continued in my next dream, like a sequel to my other dream. Maybe dreams mean something. Who knows

That's normal. Most people have at least one haunting, life-changing dream that sticks with them and can pop into their mind at the slightest triggering cue in waking life. Often times it's a side affect of the coming-of-age process. Your sub-conscious can sometimes sense when things will be important before they even happen, and when you're dreaming, you're more in tune with it I guess. Usually they have a lot of symbolism commonly reported in dreams, which I believe to be proof for Carl Jung's theory of the Collective Unconscious.

One time I had a really epic and memorable dream right before returning to college from spring break. When I got back to school, I found out my friend (totally random, no "deep" connection) had a similar dream, from his point of view. The weirdest part was that his dream included real events that had happened to me the day before. o_0
