Sick of people asking about weight loss

I got sick a few months ago(mono) and lost quite a bit of weight (15 lbs or more). I thought I was pretty obviously ill, but a lot of people I know keep asking how I lost weight, assuming I was dieting and telling me I look "great".
I wasn't overweight before and frankly I look and feel best somewhat "zaftig". Im normally about 135-140 and 5'6.
Now I feel like everyone thinks I was fat, or at least I should be skinny which is not natural for me. I think its just as rude as pointing out someone who has gained weight. I didn't announce a diet or anything and I was really sick!
Do you think its rude to ask people about their weight either way especially if they are just a casual acquaintance?

Meh, I wouldn't give this too much notice. People just can't keep their yaps shut and will talk about all kinds of nonsense. When they see you lost weight, they just see it as an opportunity to talk about yet another something.

And with the whole obesity epidemic and everyone going mental about losing weight, they just think they'd get kudo points for "complimenting" your weight loss.
