Sick and tired of the frontin on facebook

let me start off by saying that, if you are not a famous celeb. or a business person, a promoter etc. then why do you have over 300 friends on facebook? some ppl use facebook for the craziest reasons. i feel like the people that have the most comments on facebooks are the people that know exactly what to say to whom to say it and how to say it to get attention. it's like a big ole frontation going on there. so many contradictions. and what is up with ppl postin ever little step and move they make on there? acting like they talkin to their mind on fb. like they left half of their brain on fb. like ok i think i am hungry...status update! i think i will go fix me a plate ...update!...im walkin to the kitchen you guys, what u think> comments below ..Update! we in bed...update we about to kiss ..update! YOU GET THE PICTURE? DANG! WHAT IS UP WITH PPL? SOME TALK ABOUT NOT HAVING A JOB BUT NEVER FAIL TO GET ON FACEBOOK AND UPDATE SOME STUPID ISH. ALWAYS TALK ABOUT THE MOST CURRENT EVENTS SO THAT LOTS AND LOTS OF PPL COMMENT. SAY STUFF THAT HAS NO SUBSTANCE AS LONG AS IT GETS LIKES. post crazy random pics . im not hatin i just feel stupid being on there. because by nature i am not a person that braggs and shows off. like loook look what i got and what happened to me... its not me. i just wanted to know if i am the only person that feels weird about the way fb has become...please let me know....don't tell me if i dont like it dont go on there... well i went because my family is on there. i travel a lot so i thought it would be good to see new pics. but as i started adding ppl i started to see that fb is like the fronters book. sorry bout my typos

I am not on facebook but most people I know are.

What I really cannot understand is:- Why on earth do people believe that anyone else would be interested in what they did that day, week or year? Most of their so called 'friends' wouldn't give a stuff if they were dead!

There definitely seems to be a certain amount of arrogance or delusion involved. Surely a real friend will call and ask how they are?!

  • I get what you're saying dude. But thats facebook... Everyone wants attention and knows EXACTLY how to get. But it doesn't mean a thing!! The attention you get is insignificant, and yet you always want more? :O

I hate what facebook is doing to people. Its like a drug. It keeps you in a stupor.

  • Every friend you add on facebook (that you don't know) A kid in the world gets stuck with an over masturbation problem that can't be cured. I don't know why but it's just that way.

Anyways that's facebook for you. Someday something like My FaceSpace will be created and kill facebook and facebook will only be used for terrible home recorded underground bands who think they'll make it into the music industry one day.

Yes. Facebook feels like this pretentious barrier between me and my friends. I wish it never existed.

My friend has just closed his Facebook account and I'm on the brink of doing too. I never use it anyway so there's no point me being there.

We were talking about it last night. He said he closed the account because the level of inanity and attention-seeking desperation of status updates was making him judge the entire human race harshly.

Before Facebook, he wouldn't have believed someone would consider "Hannah is eating carrots now. OMG. lolz" as newsworthy enough to broadcast to every single person you know. He said that half the people he knows don't even know he got married last year, never mind what item of food he's currently consuming.

Hannah's status update was following by three comments all calling her "Sooooo crazy". I presume they were talking about carrot eating because, yeah, that's crazy. At least as crazy as using carrot eating as a method of seeking attention. Who knows, maybe that's what they meant. But somehow, I doubt it.

Another friend closed her Facebook account because she thought people just added friends in order to look popular, as if friends were somehow followers or your "audience". The obsession with being famous disgusted her. Also, she was a little miffed that she couldn't get more than 26 friends.

I have over 500. Most are people I know from school. Others are relatives, interweb friends & other randomness. And some people from bands or reality shows add fans, so some of them I'm connected to.

I agree that it's dumb to add random people just to get your friend count up, but it's also kinda ignorant to judge people from looking at their page if you don't know them. If someone is annoying or mean or whatev, just delete them. That's what I do.

You're just jelly because you can't even get 100 Facebook friends. Haha, I kid, but who cares? It's just a website. Let people act stupid if they so choose.
