Is it normal that I shower twice a day? I have been since I was 11 and I always feel dirty during the day so I have to shower twice. Occasionally I get the urge to shower in the middle of the night as well but I never actually do.What do you think?
Excessive showering can be demential to your skin. You are basically stripping too much of the natural body oils that protects your skin.
Why is is disgusting to show twice a day, or am I missing something. xx

Yes O.P it's completly normal. I can't sleep without my night bath even if I get in at 3am I still have to get a very quick bath. I usually only stay in the bath for I also bathe in the morning as well to make sure I am still fresh xxx
I used to do that, but now only every second day. Now i have more time for other things, and it's better for my hair and skin.
I think it's a little bit excessive, but if it's not an obsession, then carry on, I guess. So say if you had to go one day only showering once, you wouldn't freak out? If you would freak out, then I think you're a bit obsessive over it. And I think showering in the night would be crossing a line too. I'm just being really honest as someone who gets a bit paranoid over the hygiene aspect of some things. Personally, I only shower once a day and sometimes every other day. And occasionally not for two or three days if it's been cold and I haven't really sweated (?!) and/or I haven't been doing anything that requires getting mucky! And I'm fine and very healthy.
Lots of days I shower 2 or even 3 times. Some days just once and some days not at all. I shower when I need to, all depends on what I am doing. But yeah twice a day is normal enough.

I don't understand the "excessive"comment. If you are dirty, why would it be desirable to stick with it?
Making the appropriate modifications to support skin suppleness is not terribly treacherous.
Perhaps a shower every hour would be questionable-if it were compulsive.
If your second shower pleases you/you feel better than you did before, why would you not?
It's excessive, your body doesn't need to be cleaned that often. You might have some anxiety going on there.
No... that's not normal. You're going to end up damaging your skin from excessive heat, scrubbing, etc.
