Should they stay in the same classes?

I noticed back when I was in school that there were a lot more students that had physical and mental illnesses. During the current times I don't see it quite as much and often see many being pulled out of school to be home schooled or private schooling. This may be an attempt to give them the best possible chance to succeed because public schools are very crowded and teacher to student ratio is terrible. Or maybe they were trying to avoid their kid being a much picked on target of bullies at school. Whatever the case may be I do see a difference in what was in my day to what is now. So here's what I wanted to ask about this :
1. Do you see many challenged students at your school ? ( physical, mental, etc.. )
2. Thinking back in your school years ... does it seem more or less than the time you are remembering ?
3. Should they stay in public schools or go home school or private education ?
4. What's your over-all thoughts on this matter ?

same class 3
other 1
different school 2

Thinking back to my school we had kids with illnesses and they would go to there own class in the school to make sure they would be able to focus and have more one on one help with teaches,
They where called the "special needs" class and they had a few (around 5) teachers that we're more advanced with children with illnesses,
To make sure that the kids from the special needs class didn't feel left out there would be 3 students comeing into the class everyday and eat lunch there and play with them ,
I was in that club so I went in every Thursday with my friend,
And I also remember that at dpa (daily physical activity:a class to go outside and play sports, active stuff)
A student would sometimes join are class along with a teacher (this was only every so often) they just wanted to see how the students would react around a bigger number of students.
So yeah this was pretty long lol but I hope it gave you a better idea of what diffrent schools do with this situation.

As long as they are able to function on their own in a classroom setting, they should be in the same class as everyone else.
Just because they get around differently or their minds process things differently, it doesn't mean that they should be excluded from the rest of society.

It's impossible for someone to be socially accepted/accepting and be able to function in society among all kinds of people if they were never socialized to do so.

Separating them from others in a school setting by default could easily be paralleled with asylums, in that the 'others' are sent to a place where society doesn't have to deal with them.
Not only is that immoral, but most people are not educated well enough to effectively educate someone with special needs, especially when homeschooling.
