I am asking this based on the merit of there seems to be a lot of reckless parents whom think sprouting out children seem to be the great thing but can't afford or are unable to nurture properly? Such cases as in Nadia Suleman and Andrea Yates.

Although it seems like a great idea, it's taking away personal freedom. Many people may be judged unfairly, also.

I'm an average 21 year old girl and I feel like i'm a lot smarter than some middle-aged parents.
At my last job people would buy weed and alcohol after getting their checks when they didn't even have enough money to stay in their apartments, buy food, and worst of all, feed their children.
That kinda BS really pisses me off.
A friend of mine who I had to stop talking to should have been sterized years ago. She's been pregnant at least a dozen time since she was 15. She's 31 now, in a program to try and get her 3 kids back and stay off heroin. Her boyfriend recently overdosed and is dead now. Those poor kids :( she would always tell me how lucky I was for having such a well behaved sweet child. Not luck toots, its called parenting. Stop the fuckin party and raise good kids. Its not rocket science
Too hard to enforce, but mothers who've had their children taken away coz of abuse / neglect should be sterilised to stop them continuing to breed. Convicted paedophiles too, should be sterilised and castrated.

There kind of already is. Plenty of people with mental handicaps are sterilised against their will. We don't talk about it in polite company, though, because we like to believe we live in a free, equal society.
Those who have been sex offenders, unemployed,drug addicts,alcoholics, anyone on wealfare should be banned from having kids.
yea, have you heard of the 'gene pool awards?' it's basically about incredibly stupid people who end up killing themselves, like this drunk guy who wanted to fly arond while drinking beer tied a bunch of helium balloons to a lawn chair, it worked! but half a mile up he froze to death.
You can't have a watch list to stop bad people from abusing and killing children. There will always be nut cases out there that will do it. Its kind of stupid to put someone on a watch list after the fact. Besides if there was such a thing the government would ABUSE IT HELLO!!!! Its no different than gun restrictions

Why? Because the moment you start that, someone will try to make it political... to try to bias it against whatever political party or lobby group they hate.

Who said anything about any specific political view? In fact that's WHY I didn't specify any views, just "politics in general"
All I said was that people would use politics in their decisions on who to ban...
i.e. ... "I think anyone who supports *bla bla bla* isn't fit to be a parent!"
then that person may try to ban those they dislike or disagree with from having kids.
Betas are already shut out from having kids most of the time. Id say thats good enough
