Should i trust my father if he always lies to me?

My father promised me since I was little, that whatever sport that I wanted to try, he would pay the fee. And ever since, he has never done so. He didn't even help my pay my tuition and I was only $900 off from going to university. So is it normal that I should not trust him? Or is it not normal?

    Normal not to trust him, because he's obviously not trustworthy if you can't count on him to keep his word.
