Should i tell my friend somehow that i like him or is it wrong now

I have a friend whos said several that he's in love with me and ive caught feelings for him too. All of a sudden he tells me hes in an internet relationship now. We have many times laughed about our poor dating histories when we hang out yet again he chooses someone hes texted online who might be tricking him.

I text him often now but I don't think he suspects that I like him? 1 evening he went on about his biggest interest which I share. We talked about it for hours. He says flirty things sometimes but i'm not sure if he means anything by it or it just happens to come off that way. Im a reserved person, no one ever knows how I feel so I dont guess he does.

We have been close to becoming a couple. We've discussed it but things get in the way. We're introvert loners, live in different cities (but we actually hang out irl) and maybe havent been ready. I dont know if its morally sound to flirt now and it feels insulting possibly being turned down for some internet person. I could handle it and stay friends but it would feel stupid since its not a real relationship I mean its someone he roleplays with in a video game. But yeah

Past doesn't predict the future. Maybe you both had a bad dating history because you hadn't found the right one and maybe this is the real deal. You won't know unless you try! Best wishes!!

I don't mean this to sound rude about your friend, but an "internet relationship" with someone you have never met is not a relationship in the same way as a real life relationship is. So I really wouldn't worry too much about that. I would just tell him that you want to be in a relationship with him. I think you'll regret it if you don't at least try.

SwickDinging, you couldn't have worded it better than I could ( In short: I agree with every part of what you have said. )

Go for it. Resolving the issue is better than leading yourself on.

I'm guessing these feelings appeared _after_ hearing he was in a relationship.
