Should i tell my crush...

I'm 37 years old and I have developed an online crush for a female gamer from half the world away. We've talked daily for the past week but I felt a connection beteween us the first time we talked. I can't get her out of my head and she's the fist and last person that I think about throughout the day. Should I tell her my feelings, knowing that we will never meet? BTW, she initiates most of the conversations and asks about my day so I think she might feel it too.

Tell her 48
Ignore the feelings and move on 14
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Hey you can't say you will never meet! I met someone online and decided after awhile I'd like to meet her. We talked about it. I bought a plane ticket and we met. It was great.

For 5 years I have had the most wonderful online friendship with a man on the opposite side of the planet. It has enriched my life beyond words. We have no desire to meet we just love each other's mind and exploring the connection we share. Even though we'll never be in the same space we love sharing time. Do it!

Let the Nerd within pave the way! Being separated by distance you will have an emotional rather than physical relationship. Simply tell her how she makes you feel about yourself. The things you like about your friendship. That it makes you really happy to think about her out there in the world living her life. That talking with her makes you smile and you look forward to hearing from her every day. That you wonder what she wears to work. All those wonderful silly childish things that people who see each other every day miss out on. She will have similar feelings to share :)

  • I sent her a message, it kept it pretty short...4-5 sentences. I'll post back with details of her response. My hands are still shaking...

It's okay. Just breathe and good on you for sending positive vibes into the universe. So what did you say? :)

      • Pretty much what you wrote above but I hadn't seen your reply...lol just that I enjoy talking with her and that I have developed feelings for her. Told her how I look forward to hearing from her everyday and that my heart races and I get butterflies when I see her online. I also said that I would like to continue the friendship to see where things go.

Good for you! I was in her position once and it freaked me right out in the early days. It's important to just focus on being the best friends ever. That makes the distance irrelevant. X

          • It helps that we are both the same age so being freaked out shouldn't be much of an issue.

I just freaked out at the whole online thing. I kept thinking where does he think this could possibly go? What does he expect here? The emotional intensity of the friendship surprised us both. It's rather cool.

    • First off, I can honestly say that it's the first time that's happened in a long time. There's nothing wrong with it and telling her how I felt relieved a lot of anxiety. Will the feelings last long? Probably not, but I gained some respect with her and who knows maybe the friendship will extend past the game.

  • Well it went pretty good. We're going to continue the friendship and see. Who knows, but at least she knows how I feel and I broke down the barrier. Now just to breathe... :D
