Should i tell a teacher?

I'm a girl.My dad has been a pervert for a pretty long time. He has sent me emails of naked girls and all and always objectified women. He got arrested for lewdness too, idk what exactly he did. Recently, he sat close to me and showed me porn vids which I looked away from and left the room, but he stayed in my room a couple hours and I could hear what he was listening to. At one point he said I should be wearing nothing but socks.
My dad has been abusive physically and emotionally as long as I knew. He's often hit my mom and left bruises. He hits me but not that hard. I'm scared at home, and both my parents have a mental illness.I'm scared of the violence that might ensue if i tell my mom. Should I tell a teacher?

    Be prepared to have the law get involved. Get proof, audio if nothing else but video is better. Talk to a counsellor or even a teen hotline if you want anonymity, not just any teacher though.

    School staff are mandated reporters and they're going to call CPS who is going to go to your father who is going to act like a model Dad and then give you and Mom hell afterward.

    Get recorded evidence. Take it to the police station. Prepare for some shit. They might take you to a group home. I might be spewing complete BS here but I know from what I've seen that you're going to go on an ugly journey.

    then the 3 of you will never be together ever again and be in foster homes 1 after the other for many years and never have a decent life after that. or you tell him to straighten up or get out.

    You and your mother need to get out of there and into a good women's shelter, then report him to the police. He should not be allowed to get away with this

    I'd love to beat the shit outta him. Omg.... And the worst part is I did this a couple of years ago and helped a girl in distress and got 5 broken ribs outta it but it was 4 on 1 me being the lone person who got jumped!!! But I knew the odds and I don't scare easily so I tried to help and the guy that hit the girl I didn't know stopped hitting her. I justtook a good beating but it was worth it to help her. Send him my way and I'll fix him for good so he leaves you alone. But yes tell someone. That's really disgusting and there's no reason he's putting his hands on you or touching you in any way. The porn..... He's got some real issues. Best of luck but tell somebody

    I kind of think you should, that doesn't sound like a tolerable situation. But you need to be sure you understand the consequences, which will likely be very serious. And once you report it, you will have little if any say in what happens (especially if you're a minor).
