Should i take this pill?

I've taken a Vicodin (didn't really do shit) about 2 hours ago. I've got Morphine.

Can I/Should I take it?

Not sure the dosages I just know i'm in pain.

    No. And you should stop popping pills. I've had many friends do that and they ended up in a shithole.

    If you're in pain, I'd say go for it! Just don't overdo the morphine :-)

    You actually don't have morphine. My guess is you have the closest thing to it, which is oxycotin, or one of its generics. All of them are made with the same intention, just different dosage. Morphine is the strongest stuff you can get, and is rarely used outside of a battlefield or hospital setting. Mainly, because true morphine can only be injected. It feels like dipping your hand into a metallic cold waterfall. It spreads up your arm, and when it reaches your chest, ignites a kind of burning sensation everywhere. However, since you have a pill form, its an opiate, not morphine. *made from a certain breed of poppy. They used to smoke it in the 1800's, and is often associated with Lewis Carol and Alice in wonderland. Opiate > Morphine > oxycotin(tocin)>Vicodan>Loritab> everything else.

      You are sooooo wrong! Morphine comes in pills, most commonly. Morphine IS an opiate. It's used everywhere, it's commonly prescribed as a painkiller. It's actually the weakest of all heavy painkillers out there.

      Oxycontin is one of the strongest, it's several times more potent than morphine. I took Oxy (prescribed), and switched temporarily to morphine, and I had to take twice as much to equal the amount of Oxy I took. Morphine is CRAP.

      The worst thing about morphine is allergic reaction. It made me itch like crazy, it was unbearable.

        I've taken morphine a few times when I get desperate. (really painful period cramps that have been difficult to treat) The itching is unbearable. >.< Made me feel like that one guy at raves who was always on meth and scratching himself...

        I was always told in my chemistry and pharmacology classes that the strongest possible was morphine, and true morphine, derived from poppy, is only available in liquid and in a controlled setting. I will admit that things probably have changed since then. Back when I was in school though, it morphine at the top, followed by the other listings.

        Yeah I know I know I spelled it incorrectly. When its 4am and you've had 2 hours of sleep form the day before, spelling is one of those things you just don't care about.

        As far as I know morphine is the strongest of the strongest. I compare this using antiobiotics as an example. There are various doses, and types. like amoxycillin, ceclor, blah blah. (I don't care about spelling here, you get the idea) But if they give you penicillin, theres nothing else stronger. Basically if the classic breadmold doesn't save you, your boned.

        Again though, its been all of 10 years since I've had any classes on the stuff. So maybe things have changed since then. I know prices sure have. Used to be $25 for a checkup. Now its $682.12.

            So I stand corrected. Morphine is the 3rd best. At least according to the book I have.

          Well you're wrong, morphine ain't shit. Look it up....don't spread misinformation.

          I took morphine, and first of all it's not only by injections, it's most commonly pills. And it's the weakest of the HEAVY opiates.

          It's about 2 times weaker than Oxy. I took Oxycontin for years, and swithched to morphine (pills) for price concerns. I had to take 2x as much to equal the effects of Oxy. 240 mg of morphine = about 120mg of Oxy.

          The strenght of morphine doesn't change with time. A mg is a mg. Period.

            Drugs are measured equally. A mg of x is a mg of x, how htose mg's apply is what makes the difference. It's like the old saying "what weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks"....it's all the same, just different 'amounts' or volume.

      Besides, oxty (tocin) is a drug to stimulate milk let-down in animals. Duh. Oxycontin is a painkiller. BIG difference.

      One of the strongest, if not the strongest, is Fentanyl, which is a transdermal patch.

    Ehh, I wouldn't advocate pill popping, but I'd check with a doctor first if you feel you must.

    But, if you want a nice natural pain relief, I'd suggest, and don't get mad, marijuana. Whenever I get the aches and pains, I have a bowl, and it fixes me right up. Sorry if that's not your thing, I'm just trying to help.

    my boyfriend was prescribed morphine (they gave him 30 small grey round pills)after a surgery he had and surprisingly he said it didn't work as far as managing his pain (he still got high from it though)and i knew another woman who had severe back pain and got the same pills afterwards and she said they weren't very effective at controlling the pain. if you're in severe pain i would say take it to see if it works unless you have an addictive personality or history of addiction (and since you came on this site to ask people for their opinions instead of just taking the pill to get high i would say you don't have an addictive personality or suffer from drug-seeking behavior). you won't die from taking this one pill if it is indeed prescription morphine but i would let someone know what you took before ingesting it in case you have some adverse reaction or side effect and need medical attention which is not likely to happen but you can never be to cautious.

      Agreed, most of the time all pain killers do is get you high and not kill the pain. I guess they figure being high makes the pain more bearable.
