Should i see this movie?

I want to see Silver Linings Playbook, because it's about someone learning to deal with bipolar disorder and also find someone that understands them and shit. Which is basically a chick flick to me, even if it didn't have a romance aspect.
But I'm having a little bit of a rough time and I'm scared I'll completely lose it and start bawling my eyes (the "Look how happy this guy with bipolar is, I wish I could be that way but I know I never will be" way, not the "Look at this cute shit on the screen I'm so girly happy sad" or whatever that happy crying people do at movies is) out in the middle of the theater or have a panic attack.
Should I see it anyway?
Movies mean a lot to me.

There'd be no harm in seeing it but don't expect the writers to have the faintest clue about your condition. There are various things I suffer and I've seen them represented laughably in the media, even by people who say they suffer themselves.

    • I know they won't, haha, being sort of a horror movie person. (This movie is not the norm for me.)
It does just smack a bit of my own life in a lot of ways and it'd be nice to see something that smacks of my life with a happy ending, in the movie theatres I so like to sit in. You know?

If you want to watch it, then maybe just wait until it comes out on DVD. You could just rent it, and then watch it in private. So that if you do start bawling your eyes out, you can do that as much as you want without people staring, if that's what you're worried about.:)

    • Maybe. ;w; I just love going to the theatre.
You're totally right though, that's probably the better idea, in this situation!

I love the cinema too:D! By the way, I haven't seen the film myself, but I was told how it ends. I don't want to criticise something I haven't even seen, but the ending is beyond a joke (in my opinion). Apparently, the way they made it was really weird as well. I'm just basing this off others people's words, though, so I'm not sure how accurate any of this is. I'm sure it's a decent film.

Difficult. I hope you really nail in that movies aren't reality. Because if you are really sensitive it may, like you said, set you off. But here's the problem I see, if it's not truly real, how can you believe it? How can you think this would help you, if these characters aren't completely real. Maybe they're based on someone, but I'm sure there are some great stories or books you could read about people with bpd that actually live half-decent lives. What do you think?

    • I know they're not. It's really just that this movie's plot touches home in a lot of places and I know it has a happy ending, and I'd very much like to see my life with a happy ending.
This is just about the movie haha. I like books, but I don't identify with them quite the same way. How'd you know I have BPD too?
