My son is gonna be born soon. I had a strong attachment to the word Evolve. My grandpa had a tattoo that said evolve and he used to say wouldn't that be a cool name and now that he passed I think about it n I'm thinking actually it's really nice but I'm throwing it out there to get y'alls opinions because I need to know what other people think.

No. Studies have shown that odd names can have adverse effects on children, such as make them more susceptible to bullying.
I was gonna make a joke about if you plan on raising a pokemon but the fact you are trying to honor your dead grandfather is a very common sweet gesture. So I said yes. A lot of people are inspired to name after or to honor relitives in family.
What the fuck happened to people just naming their kid normal names?
I want to name my kid lloyd. Why? Because it's a cool name but also a name that has existed for a few centuries and is still in names you can expect people to have. Once had a black friend named Reginald, wanted to go by Regi idk why because Reginald is a bad ass name!
Just name him Dave. Dave is a fine name.
If I had been a boy my name would have been Reese Francis, but honestly, I like Dave better.
I think it might be better for a girls name, but I wouldn’t completely rule it out for a boy.

I don't like word names unless they are already well established and actually work as names such as Dawn or Mark.
I like the fact that it has special meaning to you and has ties to your family in a way, and isn't just a unique name just for the sake of being different. However, like others have said, bullying would be a concern, as well as the fact that I've always heard job applications with names that are considered "out there" on them will often get looked over or even thrown out in favor of more normal names. Perhaps you could use it as a middle name instead if you really like it? It is ultimately up to you though, and I think matters such as naming your child should really be a personal decision between you and the other parent.
I think it’s really cute. My eldests name is not common in the country we live in so I wanted my second to have a dynamic name too. My ex was not having it. Lol. So I made it his middle name. Maybe that can help.
