Should i meet up with someone i met online?

Okay so I've been friends with this guy I met online for 2 years. We've dated twice, we still love and care a lot about each other. He broke up with me because he said distance was too much of an issue... Recently we talked about stuff we would do if I ever went to visit him. We'd go to the mall, but each other cute things and stuff like that. We also talked about what "fun" we'd have... We're pretty much friends with benefits at this point. I'm not quite sure though. I told him I would probably be able to visit in August or sometime around there. I'm just worried he might have a girlfriend by then, and he'll completely stop talking to me...Should I take my chances or not?

    You've dated twice but you haven't met him yet? But you're friends with benefits? WTF are you talking about?

    Do not meet anyone you meet online unless in a public place and you've told friends exactly where you'll be and when and you must call them by a certain time or they'll come looking for you and/or call the police.

    You're grabbing at nothing that's real and meeting someone you don't know without safety precautions is just plain stupid.

    If he wants to meet up with you and be with you, then he wont get another girlfriend

    I say go for it. I met my boyfriend on Tinder after a week of talking to him and we fell in love instantly. My best friend just married a man she met on Facebook two years ago. My other friend is moving across the country with some guy she met on Tinder about a year ago. My other friend met some guy on AIM when she was 15 and they're still together to date 12 years later. A lot can come out of online dating, but you actually have to MEET the person, lol.
