I've known Eli for two years now, defending him like he was my brother, fighting with him like a married couple, playing footsies (sort of flirting) and I was just wondering if I should ask him out, even just to see what he would say. Should I?
Based on your question, I would assume you're female since he's a dude and gay. Soooo....why would you even consider this? If he's gay....he's not going to feel that way about you. Plain and simple. Why risk your friendship on the hopes that he might miraculously switch over?
This is a difficult question. I get the distinct feeling that you think he is really bisexual.
If you wish to ask him out you could risk damaging your friendship with him. But if you don't the question will, gnaw and burn at you.
I am a guy who takes risks; if it were me in this situation with a woman, I would ask. Just be warned You need to remind yourself it could go badly and you need to prepare for that.
Before you ask him out, you should do some investigating. Since it seems that you two are very close - it probably wouldn't hurt to ask him if he, in any scenario, would date the opposite sex. You could ask him other indirect questions related to your concern then base your decision on his answers.
He IS a gay man. Asking him out could cost both of you an important friendship, so you should approach this carefully. Best of luck to you!

He might be bi. A lot of people forget someone's bi when they have been with one sex for a while and not the other. Obviously this might be irrelevant to the situation. If he is deffinately gay then don't ask him out, there's no point.

I'm 18 and I've always liked guys (I'm a girl). But I met this girl on this school trip and she later on told me that she fell in love with me. I was really confused and stuck; I always knew that I'd never ever like a girl. But I started to like her too and we've been going out for almost 6 weeks (not long.. but pretty good). I suggest you at least tell him your feelings. I found out I was bisexual, so there's always a chance he might be too. I'm not saying that he is for sure, just maybe..
I don't know what your expectations are, but you're probably going to get hurt if you don't realize that if he's gay, he'll never want you.
Yes you should but u may be disappointed just in case he will turn u out.. After all his gay. So don't fantasies.
