I love how people who are against marijuana use are probably unaware that marijuana used to be LEGAL and alcohol was ILLEGAL once.

@iheartsoaps nope never drank, but I do plan too at least try it(I'm 18). I won't get drunk though(I think drinking age is stupid, but I don't feel the need to rush out and try it. Weed however makes you stupid which is why I won't try it. While there is no short term side effects of weed long term use is harmful to the brain(10 years or more of regular use). However you really don't want me to start using weed. It comes as a shock to people who know me and know how much I detest drugs that I support legalization of drugs. It's stupid I know but there is a psychological affect that makes me "more credible" because I detest drugs.

I would rather have it illegal because the price on weed will be high. In Florida it's illegal but I know people who sell it here for $10 to $15 a pound. I don't smoke but my big bro does.

As I have said before, I make an honest living, I go to college, I have a good, successful marriage and I am doing well in my life and pursuing my goals.

I also like to loosen up to some ganja and tunes. Throwing me in prison for it, despite the fact that I actually do contribute to society would be bogus. Go jail some real criminals and let us good folks that need a bout of relaxation here and there without all of the nasty side effects of pharm-endorsed pills live in peace.

In California, it's still illegal, but busting people for weed is such a low priority that it might as well be legal. I have nothing wrong with that. I don't smoke it, but I don't care that others do.

I'm going through severe depression and everytime I smoke weed I feel like the happiest person alive. Temporary, but a great plant.

I chose decriminalized, nothing against cannabis, but it should not be woned by the government. Everyone would just quit then.

there was a time I used to think it'd be best to legalize it, but as I've gotten older I've realized it is better to keep it illegal so it's generally harder to get a hold of.

Weed is more destructive to your body and especially brain cells than cigarettes.

either ways both are poison-potheads are idiots and losers. I debate them all the time, they think they're smart/educated and that weed 'enhances their intelligence'-it's quite the opposite.

Then you've already made up your mind about me.

I have been smoking pot for 5 years. I hold a full-time job, I go to college, I pay my taxes and I fulfill my role as a member or society. If having a joint and watching TV at the end of a busy day makes me an idiot and a loser then I would hate to know what you call people who do much less than I do that do not smoke.

It's safe enough to have no reported deaths.

Kids can actually get it easier than alcohol. Educate yourself on the benefits of industrial hemp, at the very least that should not be illegal

nonsense, if it was legal, it'd be sold OTC like cigarettes are, so in fact it is much harder to obtain.

educate yourself on it's harmful effects to the body-that is the issue here (smoking it), not 'industrial hemp.'

It is easier for kids to obtain because they do not need an ID to buy the drug. Any day at school one can purchase illegal cannabis, a quick and easy exchange that happens all too often. I knew freshmen who sold pot. While I can agree with you in that it obviously isn't harmless, it's definitely a safer alternative than alcohol in terms of being less damaging for the body and mind. Thank God no one can OD and die from it. I don't like the idea of people being drugged either, but cannabis is here to stay and we might as well tax it and stop funding the drug dealers. On a side note, Alcohol literally kills the brain and robs the body of its nutrients...It's terrible! Ever hear of wet brain? Only 80,000 deaths a year attributed to the use of alcohol. Somehow drinking is socially acceptable and perfectly legal. Besides that, So many products and activities that can be problematic are legal. Lets not dwell over that. It's life. Do you know however, things were much worse during alcohol prohibition? Marijuana prohibition is very similar. I mean the law literally makes no sense if you discover how Marijuana became illegal in the first place. And even though many people use marijuana purely recreational, lets not forget the people out there who really do need it as medicine. Some people legitimately need it to live, I kid you not. 75 years of this prohibition has caused nothing but problems, except for certain industries like prisons. I can't stress the importance of industrial hemp on this thread. It is just a war over big business (In America). If you don't understand the reasoning behind it being illegal you will probably always be ignorant to it. Have a good day and I do respect your opinion.

guess I was smart enough to get my masters, I smoke pot on a nightly basis. it always amazes me how much some people love to put others down when they have no idea what they're really talking about

big woop, I have a master's degree also but I don't go around using that as a defense to justify my vices.

obviously I'm talking about potheads in general-there are always exceptions. I guess your degree didn't help you figure that part out.

smoke all the weed you want-you're only harming yourself. I'll always get a good chuckle when you people get arrested and jailed for possession.

Actually, it's legal here. I use it because it is safer than anti-depressants. Taking Anti-Depressants was akin to me shooting myself in the leg to get over the pain of a bruise.
