hey, im going to try and make this as short as possible. I met a girl at work and we have been dating for a month or so. At first she seemed very interested, she asked me to quit drugs for her. She asked me to meet family, freinds etc. We would txt each other everyday, both starting the conversations equally. The last time we went out she asked me if i would come away with her for a weekend break somewhere. Then a few days later she is taking forever to reply to my txts, seems very cold and uninterested. Someone at work told me she got drunk and spoke of me. She said she "isnt looking for anything serious" classic break up material i know. So i find this out and think fuck it and stop txting her. Two days later she txts me asking if everything is ok and why have i not been in touch with her. My question is what do i do now? Clearly me backing off has made her wonder whats going on but i dont want to play games. So what do i do now? I want to ask her why she said what she said, but i dont want to come across clingy and push her away. At the same time i dont wanna pretend im not interested anymore and play games. Is honesty the best option here? Or do i risk coming across a bit needy and "full on".. id love a girls opinion on this. Im realy into this girl :(

    You've only been going out a month but it seems to be quite serious quite quickly. I think this is typical girl chat ~ just in case you dump her. I don't think she's going to dump you.

    Why don't you just accept that she said it, as you might say it to one of your friends, and carry on as normal. It didn't mean anything and serious relationships develop over time - you don't go into them with that preconceived idea. Any relationship can end at any time.

    Enjoy your time together but don't hold it against her, she's not going to tell that girl her deepest secret wishes.

    BTW None of us are mind-readers so if something really does annoy you, I say wait 24 hours and if it still annoys you, at least you have calmed down enough to discuss it calmly.

    I think the best thing to do is to have a little sit down and make sure that you both have a clear understanding about what you want out of this relationship. Hopefully talking to her will diminish your fears. Perhaps everything was a misunderstanding. Communication is key and so is trust. Talk to her, Be honest.

    She could have just said that (when she was drunk) because she is trying to convince herself that she doesn't have feelings for you when really she does. Or it could have been the truth. It's difficult to say for certainty.

    Talk to her about it. Be honest.
