Sex - spontaneous or scheduled

Which scenario would you prefer?

Scenario 1 - You could have sex as often as you wanted but it would be scheduled, no big surprises, a little bit routine but still satisfactory (your partner would not refuse to do your favourite activities and you would not refuse theirs).

Scenario 2 - You could have sex less often than you wanted, there would be times when you need sex but you cannot have it but your sex life would be based on spontaneity, sexual encounters would be spontaneous and often unexpected, full of passion, experimentation and novelty

Note - choose the option which you would PREFER regardless of what is closer to your real life situation.

    I'd go with scenario two. I don't know why but spontaneous sex just sounds better than scheduled. Full of passion and in the heat of the moment. Scheduled just makes me feel rushed or like I have to get turned on by a certain time.

    Woman Scenario 1 (Lesbian)
    From years of both scenarios i prefer scheduled,it is still passionate and satisfying.I don't come home hoping she's in the mood because its Wednesday and i know she's waiting in bed.That's exciting.

    We've got 4 kids (youngest is 2) and we're very satisfied. Why? Because we plan.

    For me scenario 1 is best to approach your wife as anticipation is the key in good and flexible sex.
    Anticipation is also best to warm up a woman before intercourse.
    One cannot neglect the scenario 2 as well.But in my opinion most of the women find themselves less comfortable in scenario 2 because foreplay is the basic need of a woman to fully prepare her self for sex.
    Males no doubt find themselves more comfortable in scenario 2.

      Your reasoning makes sense. But the results of the poll here seem to point in the opposite direction for women so far. Do you have any idea why it might be that more women (15:46 votes here so far) voted for scenario 2?

      (My original hypothesis was that men would go for scenario 1, women for scenario 2 because I supposed that for men sex is more of a physical need, like hunger, and they would prefer to have it satisfied on a more regular basis. Like having your meals regularly versus one in a while in a luxurious restaurant. Apparently my hypothesis was not confirmed here in case of men. For women, I expected them to choose scenario 2 as I hypothesised that for them sex is not so much about physical needs/physiology but more about emotional needs and "quality of the experience" which adventure and sponaneity might provide.
      By the way, and this is not important, I voted 1 and I am male)

    Well it matters sometime's how old you are? I mean first time can sometime be planned so both can understand when. When you get older normally it normally becomes more spontaneous? It matters. When I say older I mean like 19-30.
    I prefer spontaneous.

          It's bullshit because needs don't work like that. The need for friendship could greatly outweigh someone's need for sex for example.

            Sure. Sexual needs of someone with a low libido can be easily satisfied and even if they are not satisfied, he/she can easily move on to the "higher" levels of needs in the supposed hierarchy. Or in other cases, it can be speculated that some needs can undergo their sublimation into other, completely different manifestations. (see the theory of sexual sublimation). So it is not difficult to undermine Maslow´s theory (or any other theory for that matter). I suppose his pyramid can be used only as an illustration of some "typical" cases and only at the expense of oversimplification.
