I have an addiction to adult Second Life virtual world. It wasnt a problem until i found out that virtual sex with beautiful women across the globe was a daily occurrance! I buy them cheap in world items add a bit of small talk, ask them to talk dirty live while our avatars make love and find myself shirking myself silly within the next 5 minutes! Way too easy!!! I have uninstalled SL atleast 12 times only to re-install! I'm totally addicted. Is this normal?

    I am a guy, have been in SL for 2+ years, and have both male & female avi's but never entered into a sexual relationship as a gal. SL reflects RL, meaning, while it's a safe environment to either engage in fantasy, be it shallower into a quick wap-off or deeper into full on partnership relations, to me it is VERY normal if in balance with other real life concerns. Is it an addition? I would say YES, without a doubt. It it healthy? I would say that depends. If you begin to crave the fantasy over reality, then it's time to start weening away. If you take all the time sitting in front of a computer and add it up... it might be rather scary. For me, the SL people are real, have real feelings, and want to engage in activities with others who feel the same. So on that note, I suggest you are finding those that want the same quick wap. If you feel shallow, then most likely they do too. If you are un-installing as a way to quit, then you are indeed addicted. A small suggestion: find one meaningful friend to share and explore the SL experience. If that doesn't work, leave it as soon as possible.

    Uhm just think about who is chatting on the other end. It's prolly some dude with a girl avatar. I'm totally serious I know guys that like to be women on those things.
