Schizophrenia

I'm in my senior year of High School, And I have always been a really free spirited and non - violent person. I got put into a pretty rough alternative school about a year ago, and being such a tiny girl, I don't always get a lot of respect...When I was in 4th grade I was diagnosed with schizophrenia, I take medication for it, and for the most part I have it under control.

But about a month ago, I got the shit beatin out of me by a girl twice my size. I got knocked out, and had 9 hits to the head, and a broken jaw. After this incident my schizophrenia was noticably worse. I started hearing more vivid voices, and having more drastic mood changes. Could this be a serious problem, Is this normal?

  • I would advise telling your doctor because it's something he/she should be told about. Make an appointment as soon as you can.

Thank you, I didn't think about it to much at first, but I think it would be a stupid idea to just let it go. Things just kinda get worse everyday. :P

Please get help, before it gets worse. You dont want to be in that position and you don't want to put your loved ones through that.

  • Yes it is normal, but needs to be put in check. Depending what type you have also makes a differance. schizophrenia onsets usually early adolescence and some have issues with it and then never have an issue again. Some have issues their entire life. More trauma in your life isn't going to help this. I personally would get that SOB back, buts thats me. Are you the paranoid type, or another type?

Paranoid type, Voices always get worse, and I feel like it's a war against me and the world when I get to nervous/scared, or so on. And everyday I see this girl at school I wanna tear my hair out the voices get so bad! I thought it could just be because I had more stress, and I was just being to paranoid, and nervous. But I agree I need to go to my doctor soon, because the voices and mood changes are only getting worse.

  • Aslong as you know the voices arent real then you dont have much to worry about.

Head trauma can make these kinds of things worse I suggest you seek the advice of a medical professional.

I think you should tell your doctor. The fight could've worsened your condition or caused another issue. Good Luck!
