Basically babies scare me. I feel like none of them like me and I will be useless with them. I hate it when someone asks me to hold a baby, it completly scares me, especially if my mum is around because it feels like she is judging me. Is this normal?
I'm going to put myself on a limb here and risk sounding sexist , however I do have to ask your gender in determining an answer. If you are a female there may be a deeper concern because MOST of us girls are born with different "motherly" instincts and feel comfortable with enough knowledge that holding a baby or child feels natural - so if you are a female - there may be other answers that connect to that situation.
HOWEVER: Alot of males feel uneasy and quite possibly insecure because they don't have the natural instinct that females do - Esp. If they have next to none experience with children and infants. This is totally normal and in fact my boyfriend is one of those guys. If you are male and hope to have children one day , don't let this worry you - natural love and caring will come on it's own when it comes to your child PLUS lots of help from your partner :)
It's easier to imagine them as ragdolls. You can fantastize ripping their heads off, pinching their tiny pee holes and wring them like towels. Oh wait, wrong post lol
Honestly, if babies scare you that much my opinion would be to reach out to someone you can trust. But, I would not worry too much. If it makes you uncomfortable do not do it. Remember, it is your life, and your choice!
I'm also scared to hold babies, but because I think I'm going to break or drop them. I also have this feeling the parents will be watching every second I have their child in my arms, so I feel awkward, specially if they're strangers.
I'm not scared of the baby, but I'm worried I might hold them incorrectly and hurt them by accident.
Holding other people's babies has always been one of the most awkward things for me.
I feel like as soon as I get the baby, it's going to start crying and/or screaming uncontrollably, and then everyone in the room is going to look at me like, "DEAR GOD, WHAT DID YOU DO TO THAT POOR CHILD?"
I also worry if I'm not holding them correctly, I heard that you can't put too much stress on certain places, like their head and neck.
I figured that when it was time for me to settle down and have my own children, my instincts would kick in and then I would know through my own experiences what's right and wrong, and that I would adapt quickly.

Yes I feel the same way! Like if I'm holding someones baby and it starts cryin I feel soo uncomfortable
If u act uneasy and scared then they will not like you. Babies know when they are not loved. Just be as gentle as you can and remember that if u r nice and sweet they will love u haha
