Scabies, mites, and whatever goes ouch!

Three weeks ago I had awaken with a swollen bottom lip, and it itched intensely for about 2 hrs or so! My lip was the size of a small peach, and I could feel it "trying" to get bigger. It lasted for about three days. I haven't had sexual contact nor prolonged physical contact (more than a 2s handshake) with anyone in more than six months and I have NO STDs, and never have. But, I have recently purchased a brand new bed, and about 4 or so weeks a ago I slept on someone's couch. Anyhow, the swelling subsided, but about 3-4 days later I awakened while on a business trip. I could feel my top lip swelling, and it did, but this time no itching. It lasted 2 days. This morning (a whole week later), I was awakened by my top lip swelling again. This time it was under my top lip and not the outside. It is an allergy, but its unclear as to the trigger. I suspect a reaction to mites present in the pillow and bedding. Maybe the Sarcoptes Scabei, "scabies", or as I call them "The Cooties". I noticed skin "tracks" and intense itching behind my knees and in my arm pits back when the first swollen lip problem happened. I was taught they weren't supposed to go after your face. I've just recently started using left-over 12 yr old lotion prescribed by an African biochemist. He was the father of the woman I was dating. I had a skin fungus called Tinea Versicolor. Anywhere I've used it NOW the itching is controlled and the rashes don't seem to be spreading. I don't know if its consumable (or can be used on or in lips). The lotion is Selenium Sulfide 2.5%%. Ask your dermatologist if you are getting the other skin issues. I suspect that something similar can be used on the mouth. I have also found that certain weight loss products have STRONG anti-inflammatory drugs(multiple forms of caffeines and derivatives) in them. Omega-3s, capsaicin(from chili peppers) and garlic are also supposed to help. A double dose of Benedryl didn't help with my lip swelling, but one full dose of Lipo-6 knocked the swelling down within a couple of hours. This time I took something called "Dren". Let's see what happens.
-- Its now 2 hours since taking the Dren product. The lip swelling appears to be going down!--

Are you asking us if lip swelling is normal or not. Or are you trying to promote a product on IIN?

      What is IIN?
I don't know what IIN is. This is me sharing a personal story that seemed to happen right after getting a brand new bed. My confusion and situation is as follows: I think I have a scabies attack. I'm not 100 percent certain because I didn't think scabies attacked the face. I found that common anti-inflammatory agents like Benedryl and cortisol didn't do anything with the symptoms except make things feel even worse. I happened to have some standard GNC weight management products that did a better job managing the symptoms. In fact more so dramatically. Understanding that the swelling and inflammation of the lips is a typical allergic response, but is it normal for scabies, or what? I don't have bed bugs, or at least I don't think so. And even if so, why would the problem follow me when I travel. Anyhow, I'm about to post an update.

Go to a doctor. Stop sleeping on/in that bed. Bring up everything you mentioned to us with him. It could very well be that there's some form of living organism in that mattress. In the mean time, sleep on the couch.

See a doctor! They're going to know more about this than anyone here.

This is what doctors and exterminators are for. Go to the Dr about your rash, swelling, wtf ever thing you have and see what they say (since you are very unlikely to come across one who has never treated or seen scabies before, they are a good place to start). Next call a good exterminator in to look around and see if you have mites or buggies in your bedroom, get a second opinion also. Then STOP using 11 year old products from an African goat hearder or whatever that was about...after 11 years it can't be as potent or as good, and may even be harmful to you by now. Good Luck!

    ~Peace~

Its funny that people are still replying to this issue that was finally resolved back in November 2008. And, yes I was worried, so thanks everyone for your efforts to help. As it turns out, I was having an extended allergic reaction to a chemical in cat fur that is even more potent than simple dander. Apparently the potency and persistence of the stuff is unique to felines. Although, I've never owned a cat, this stuff is apparently most known for hitting people buying new matrices. This means people who have owned cats "try them out" on showroom floors or similar in stores. Ultimately, people like me (allergic to cats) get hit with the delayed after affects of being unknowingly exposed. I'm fine now and have a full left over tube of the dermatological pesticide.

I know it sounds funny, because I would laugh too if I thought it was someone trying to sell me something. Hell, I hate sales people in general. But, not this I was going insane itching when I wrote the post and the issues came out of nowhere.

You could be having a allergy reaction
to almost anything , anytime the lip swells that is mostly allergy related
But you should see a Allergy doctor first

1..Are you taking diet pills, that could be it
2..Yes sleeping on someones couch could have caused it

    3..But i recommend medical attention

      Before and After.

I tried the diet product AFTER the Benedryl and Cortisol put me to sleep and didn't help at all. I wasn't taking anything prior. I've have studied the compositions of a lot of "health" products for years. I'm a regular of GNC, Vitamin World, etc. I knew they were full of anti-inflammatory ingredients, so I thought what the heck, and tried a popular product I was familiar with. It worked on the swelling. In the second occurrence the newer product worked even faster.
