I'm a human sexuality educator.
I would say it is normal for many people to do that, but I don't know if it's necessarily "right".
The average penis size in the U.S. is 5 inches.
The average size in the world is about 6 inches.And the reality is, most penises are about the same size when hard (give or take a few exceptions). The only real difference is when a man is soft. And his height often plays into an "optical illusion" of his penis size. Imagine two men with same penis length, but one is 5'7", the other is 6'2". This will make it seem like the shorter man has a bigger penis compared to the taller man because of his height proportion.
And it's sad to say, most guys are lying about their penis length. They spend too much time watching porn and get hypnotized that bigger is better. Or that the men with big penises in porn are the norm. They aren't. Men and their penises in porn are similar to women being portrayed as light skinned, skinny, and double d breasted on TV. We are smart enough to know that the majority women do NOT look like that. So don't let the media fool you into what's real and what's not when it comes to penis length either.
And lastly, I'm attracted to men sexually, but size really doesn't matter to me. I like the intimacy and kinkiness of hooking up with someone more than penetration. Love your body the way it is. <3

I really dont understand why men perpetuate the myth that a bigger dick is a better dick because it is so not true.
Big dicks hurt and most women dont like them. I prefer average to smaller dicks. Doesnt hurt during sex, easier to give an HJ or BJ to a guy with a smaller sized dick too!

Trust me size really isn't a huge issue (no pun intended).
Unless you have an abnormally small dick girls generally don't care. Dick size only becomes a problem if it is affecting the quality of sex..some people's parts just don't fit together well. I heard the same thing about black guys all having big dicks is a myth to and I believe it, but the whole red headed guys having big dicks myth seems to hold true. Your kind of misunderstanding, they're not saying it cause they think it's better for a women (I mean not entirely), they're saying it cause it makes them feel better than each other, its a bragging thing, like they're more of a man cause of it. Kind of like how women think the bigger the boobs the better the boobs because its not so true either. Same principle. When in reality its not the size of the breasts its more about the shape. All breasts look nice when they are rounded out in a bra, but when it comes off and the D cups loose their round shape they loose the appeal to, take the bra off a B cup and they keep the round shape they keep the appeal. But personally as far as looks go, I like full B cups anyways and tend to look and feel more physically attracted to girls with them, they look more proportioned and seem to fit slim (not skinny) fairly healthy female bodies like they belong there, were a girl with large breasts and a slim (not skinny) fairly healthy body, it looks kinda goofy on them like they don't belong but if I still find them overall physically attractive and they are sweethearts it doesn't really matter in the end anyways.

I know this. And the insecurity is still perpetuating the myth that bigger is better. Take buddy's comment in response to me claiming that women like big dicks. What a silly, untrue, blanket statement to make. Of course it makes guys feel superior to one another if they (think) have a big dick. They think that my bigger they are more manly, and that women will find them more sexually appealing and that they can satisfy a woman better than a man with a "small" one. Again it comes down to a security issue, and the need to feel superior. Its an easy ego boost at the end of the day. Our society conditions men to think that bigger is better. Look at most male porn stars they are hung like horses. Then you have those ads late at night for "male enhancement" products. Those ads always have some woman in them claiming how much better her sex life is since her partner has been using the products. The ads will claim that you will have a better sex life and be over all more desirable to women in general. Society created the myth and men perpetuate it by buying into all the hype and nonsense because they are conditioned tom be insecure about their manhood. And instead of seeing things for what they really are and talking to real women about what "better" actually is and realizing that size really isn't that big of an issue, they they just continue the vicious cycle of low self esteem and emasculation because it is just easier to give into society's bullshit than to think outside the box.
The exact same thing goes for women who think that bigger breasts are automatically better. Again the media and society perpetuated this myth and when you have bigger breasts of course it will automatically boost your ego and make you feel superior and more sexually attractive to men. These women are again, not willing to think outside the box and realize that not all men like big oversized breasts. But, once again, it is easier to give into the hype than to think outside the box.
My point is all this silly "bigger is better" thinking could be eradicated if more and more people opened their eyes, realized they have been brainwashed by the standards set for society by the media, and realized that just because they don't always meet those standards doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them or that they are unattractive.
So yes I do understand EXACTLY, I think you my friend, didn't stop to ask...WHY the idea of a big penis (or breasts) is an ego booster to begin with.

Happiness for everyone should be what they want for themselves of their own free thinking mind, not based on whatever programming and conditioning they have been subjected to throughout their lives. Sadly, only a handful of people really know how to step out of that zone and question the messages that are put out their.
The greatest freedom any person can ever have is the freedom gained by not caring what other people think. This is the first step to true fulfilment in life.
I always tell people to follow their bliss whatever it may be and not to give a rat's ass what anyone thinks at the end of the day. The second you stop caring about what other's think of you and the way you are the second they lose power over you and that's the second you reach true self liberation.
When it comes to body image more men and women need to start shedding and letting go of what they have been conditioned to think is attractive as deemed by society and should not base their worth as a man or woman by those ridiculous standards.
